Knights of Columbus Concord Council #112

Knights of Columbus Concord Council #112 We are Knights of Columbus, Concord Council #112 in Concord, New Hampshire. Catholic Men. Since 1895. John the Evangelist, St.

Concord Council #112 traces its origins back to March 17, 1895 when a group of thirty-nine Catholic men from both St. John the Evangelist and Sacred Heart parishes were granted a charter by the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council. Dennis Donovan served for two years as the first Grand Knight. The Council works closely in support of the four Church's of Concord: Immaculate Heart of Mary on Loudon

Road, as well as St. Peter's and Sacred Heart, the last three all part of the newly formed Christ The King Parish - as well as the Carmelite Monastery on Pleasant Street. Council 112 provides funds for various projects such as memorials, CCD programs, scholarships for local students, tournaments, communion breakfasts, Special Olympics, cancer research, Operation Santa Claus, and visiting hospital patients. Members are active participants in their respective parishes as organists, cantors, lectors, ushers, teachers, and Eucharistic Ministers. The Knights of Columbus is the world's largest Catholic lay organization, with more than 1.7 million members in the United States, Canada, Mexico, Central America and the Caribbean and the Philippines and Poland. Last year, the Knights donated more than $139 million and over 64 million hours of volunteer time to charity.

Sunday, June 14th was Flag Day and 4th Degree Members sponsored a proper flag disposal ceremony. It was our 2nd Annual. The results were overwhelming! We started with a cookout and had three overflowing 55 gallon barrels of flags to burn. We started with pray, led by Tyler Hanscom. Thank you to all who donated tattered flags, those who cooked and served the meal, our guests, and the men that led this honored tradition.

Saturday June 13th the 4th Degree funded and prepared it's annual cookout at the NH Veterans Home. The veterans were very grateful and enjoyed a great meal. Mike Romano, Brian LaValley, Chuck McGee and Charlie McGee grilled and then help serve.

Our 2026 Confirmation Bibles program has come to a conclusion and Grand Knight Mike Romano thanks all those who helped make it happen. It's involved - from buy and blessing the bibles, to attending multiple Masses, and hosting a breakfast fundraiser. It is our hope that presenting each confirmation student a brand new Bible will help them grow in the faith.

Worthy Brothers,

Just a quick reminder that we are doing breakfast at IHM on Sunday and could use help. We plan on serving from 8 am until 11 am. Please let me know if and when you can lend a hand. We will start setting up at 7 am in the hall beneath the church. We can use people to help cook and serve from 7 to 9, 9 to 11 and then people to help clean up afterwards. Please contact me if you plan on helping so we have an idea how many we will have on hand.

Also, I am planning on going out to Matt Zahn's house in Bow on Saturday to help mow the lawn and other yard work. I could use a couple people to go with me. Please let me know if you want to join me.

Thanks and God Bless,

Mike Romano, GK
