DAILY MANNA 2026 DEVOTIONAL

DATE: FRI, JUL 31, 2026

TOPIC: PREPARATIONS FOR THE MASTER

KEY VERSE:
“And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat.” - (Luke 22:8).

READ: Luke 22:7-12 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
One of the most enduring and longest placed dining tables in the world is in the Taj Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad, India. The palace was built by Nawab Viquar-ul-Umra, and it was completed in 1894. The dining table was crafted with the finest materials available at that time. It is 108 feet long and is designed to seat 101 guests. The table is part of the furniture still used today at the Taj Falaknuma Palace, which has been converted to a luxury hotel. It takes an uncommon table to entertain uncommon guests.

It was Passover time and for Jesus, it would be His last with His disciples. He wanted to celebrate it in an uncommon way. He instructed them to go and prepare a place for the feast, though, unknown to them, He had, by divine power, already put arrangements in place. Getting the work done well would take their willingness, faith in His word and implicit obedience to His instructions for them to make a success of their assignment. Jesus sent Peter and John on this special assignment and wonderfully enough, on this occasion, Peter did not ask questions. He went as instructed and found the words of Jesus true to the letter.

There is nothing on earth that can take our Lord by surprise. John says Jesus “needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man” (John 2:25). He knew the houses and spaces available for Him. He knew the locations and available “large rooms” furnished to receive Him. But He did not take chances by keeping the guests wondering when He would come. He sent an advance party to get all things ready.

The Lord Jesus is coming back again and He wants you to be ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb. He has gone to prepare a place for the elect and He wants us to be watchful and prepared for the glorious occasion. Peter and John did not hesitate to carry out His plan to get the table for the feast ready. He has great expectations that you will carry out His instructions. Will you let Him down?

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The Christian that fails to prepare for the coming glory will have a sad story.

DAILY MANNA 2026 DEVOTIONAL

DATE: THU, JUL 30, 2026

TOPIC: GLORIOUS RESTORATION

KEY VERSE:
"And I will bring Israel again to his habitation, and he shall feed on Carmel and Bashan, and his soul shall be satisfied upon mount Ephraim and Gilead." - (Jeremiah 50:19).

READ: Jeremiah 50:17-24 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
The story of Jeff, as published on the website of Changed Lives Archives, narrates the amazing account of redemption and restoration of a wandering child come home. He grew up in the church and drifted away from the faith after the sudden death of his father. He pursued a career in rock music, which led him into broken relationships and addiction. However, through the persistent prayers and support of his aunt, Jeff experienced a spiritual revival. He surrendered his life to Christ. The good news and God’s intervention must have accelerated his mother’s miraculous healing and recovery from cancer.

Stepping back into history, the children of Israel had been warned by God to ensure faithful obedience to His laws and complete separation from the contamination of the Gentile nations around them, as they were preparing to inherit the Promised Land. Unfortunately, they kept on disobeying God, and falling into rebellion and idolatry. Eventually, God expressed His divine displeasure after they had exhausted His long rope of love and overdrawn their cheque of mercy. Prophet Jeremiah warned them of the consequences of their disobedience to God and stiff-necked refusal to change their ways and return to the path of righteousness.

The pronouncement of judgment eventually took its proper course, and they went into captivity and suffered terribly in Babylon. The passage today, however, comes with a message of hope and comfort to the people of God. After the expiration of the period of their punishment, Jeremiah returned with a message of glorious restoration, refreshment and satisfaction in their land. Israel would have a second chance, after spending 70 years in exile.

This teaches us that no matter how far anyone has wandered away from God, the loving arms of the Lord are wide open to receive such if only the individual will retrace their steps like the prodigal son and return to God, the Father of mercy. Our loving Father in heaven is longing to receive as many as will seek His face. A new season of glorious restoration and refreshing starts now.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: The door of restoration opens the moment a lost soul repents.

DATE: THU, JUL 02, 2026

TOPIC: OUR FAITHFUL COVENANT-KEEPER

KEY VERSE:
“The enemy shall not exact upon him; nor the son of wickedness afflict him. And I will beat down his foes before his face, and plague them that hate him.” - (Psalm 89:22,23).

READ: Psalm 89:19-24 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
You might have heard the saying, “Promises are meant to be broken,” especially in the business world. Sadly, this often proves true today, as people quickly make and break commitments at will. Even marriage, which is supposed to be the most sacred bond, isn’t immune to this trend of infidelity. People might agree to terms on paper, but when it becomes inconvenient, they back out or end relationships at the first sign of trouble. God is different. When He makes a promise, He keeps it.

The passage under consideration brings us back to God’s unwavering covenant with David. Ethan, the inspired writer of this psalm, reflects on the significant moment when the prophet Samuel anointed David to be the future king of Israel. This anointing was more than just a ritual; it represented God’s choice and empowerment for leadership. The psalmist starts by recalling God’s promise to David and his descendants, ensuring that David’s dynasty would last forever. He describes the blessings that come with this promise: David would have divine support in ruling his kingdom; his people would be free from oppression, and his enemies—both external and within—would be swiftly defeated or struck down by plague. David would experience God’s faithfulness and mercy, which would benefit his subjects and clear the way for his kingdom’s growth. His “horn,” a symbol of his power, would be lifted high as God fights his battles, granting him victory and security.

As we reflect on this passage, we are reminded that God’s promises are grounded in His faithfulness, not in our abilities or worthiness. David’s anointing and the promise to his dynasty are a testament to God’s sovereign choice and empowerment. In our own lives, we can find encouragement in God’s faithfulness. Just as David’s throne was secure because of God’s promise, we too will find safety when we build our lives on God, the ultimate covenant Keeper. There was a time when Israel strayed from God, and David’s dynasty faced defeat in battle. Then, it seemed like God’s promise to him would fail. Ultimately, the covenant was fulfilled through Jesus Christ, the Son of David, who will reign forever. Though men fail, God’s faithfulness never fails!

Today, believers partake of God’s promises through faith in Jesus. In case you are searching for a love that never fails, it can only be found in a relationship with the covenant-keeping God.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Faith in God’s faithfulness is vital in our walk with Him.

DAILY MANNA 2026 DEVOTIONAL

DATE: TUE, JUN 30, 2026

TOPIC: LARGE HEARTEDNESS

KEY VERSE:
“And I am this day weak, though anointed king; and these men the sons of Zeruiah be too hard for me: the LORD shall reward the doer of evil according to his wickedness.” - (2 Samuel 3:39).

READ: 2 Samuel 3:31-39 (KJV)

MESSAGE:
In 1918 when racism was very rife in America, in the back woods of Mississippi was Lawrence Jones, a Negro teacher and preacher. He was about to be lynched by an excited mob. He was thought to have been inciting other Negroes to rebellion. As he stood on the heap of faggots about to be hanged and burnt, he was given the privilege of speech. His speech so swayed the mob that they started there and then to raise funds for his project, Piney Woods Country School. Asked thereafter how he felt about the people who dragged him out to be killed, he replied, “I have no time to quarrel
no man can force me to stoop low enough to hate him.” He had a great mind.

David was also a man of a great mind. His reaction to the murder of Abner by Joab and the dirge he composed on that occasion bore testimony to his innocence. Beyond that, he was too preoccupied with weightier issues to harbour resentment. The late Abner was at the head of the rebellion against David's kingship and had single-handedly installed Ishbosheth as king over Israel. He had just fallen out with Ishbosheth and made reconciliatory overtures to David with a promise of helping to extend David's rule over all Israel. Joab, the captain of David's army, would not countenance such a move - the same Abner had earlier killed his brother. He sought to get even by murdering Abner in cold blood. This brought genuine grief to David, who perhaps for the powerful influence of the sons of Zeruiah, could not punish Joab for this evil. He could only place a curse on them indirectly.

The large-heartedness displayed by David here was not an isolated case. He did that at the death of Saul and Jonathan, Ishbosheth and Absalom, some of whom were after his life.

It is betoken of a Christian to have such a great mind, too occupied with nobler concerns than to harbour bitterness, resentment, grudge, retaliatory thoughts and hatred. Be like Stephen and our Lord, who interceded for their assailants.

THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: Nobility shines most when under test.
