In Numbers 12:8 (ESV), God asks a sobering question:

“Why then were you not afraid to speak against my servant Moses?”

Miriam and Aaron allowed personal frustration to turn into criticism. What started as a private issue became harmful speech. God took it seriously.

We live in a time where words travel fast. Conversations happen in texts, group chats, and private messages. It’s easy to say things we would never say face to face. But God hears every word, even the ones typed quietly on a screen.

The issue is not just about leaders. It’s about the condition of our hearts. James 3:10 (ESV) reminds us: “From the same mouth come blessing and cursing. My brothers, these things ought not to be so.”

Before we speak, or type, we should ask, “Does this honor God? Does this build up or tear down?”

If we have concerns, Scripture calls us to handle them directly, truthfully, and in love. Gossip spreads harm. Godly conversation brings healing.

Commit to using our words in a way that honors the Lord, protects unity, and reflects the character of Jesus.
