From The Clark Family-

Good morning! Elena has been resting so well at home. She is having miraculous healing of her wounds, and we are reducing the pain medicine.. she’s showing no neurological deficits except for headaches

She even played the piano yesterday for a short time!!

She fatigues quickly, but was able to be with her horses for about 10 to 15 minutes to say hi to them and love on them-that was very therapeutic for her as they came right up to her because they had missed her.

She won’t be able to do any sports or horseback riding for 6 to 8 weeks but I know she’s going to be healed completely in Jesus name.

Our baby girl was saved by God and we know that God will bring good out of the suffering not just for Elena and our family but for others that have been watching this miracle unfold.

Please keep praying for her to start eating well and keep healing.

We love you all and thank you so much for the cards, flowers, food, and balloons. Please keep them coming. She is so encouraged by your loving thoughts and words and feels so loved. 🥰 ❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

On Behalf of Allison and the Clark Family:

Good morning-
We will be traveling back to North Carolina today, please be praying that Elena has comfort during the drive and her pain is under control.
Also, Please keep praying for continued healing for her brain and wounds.

We know God has been glorified and will continue to be glorified through this whole assignment.

She is a mighty warrior for Christ and I’ve never been more proud of my daughter.

She won’t be up to visiting for a while, but she would love, encouraging cards or letters, or songs of worship that come to your heart.

Thank you for all your prayers-everyone praying from coast to coast north to south was so impactful in her miraculous recovery to get out of the hospital so quickly.

We are forever grateful❤️‍🩹💖

🍽️ MEAL TRAIN FOR THE CLARK FAMILY 🍽️

As Elena continues her recovery, a meal train has been set up to support Mark, Allison, and the family during this season. One of the most practical ways we can love on them right now is by making sure they don't have to worry about what's for dinner.

Whether it's a home-cooked meal, a gift card, or just a word of encouragement, every bit of support means so much.

🙏 PRAISE REPORT & CONTINUED PRAYER FOR ELENA CLARK 🙏

Church family, we want to thank you for praying so faithfully for Elena and the Clark family. The Lord has heard our prayers, and today we have so much to thank Him for.

Mark shared that there is a good possibility Elena will be discharged from the hospital today. She has been cleared by the neurosurgeon and trauma team, and they are currently waiting for final clearance from the ENT.

Considering how serious this accident was and how frightening those first hours were, we are praising God that Elena's life has been spared.

There is still a road of recovery ahead. Elena will need time to heal from her injuries, and there may be additional surgery in the near future. So while we celebrate this wonderful news, please continue to cover Elena, Mark, Allison, and their entire family in prayer.

Pray for complete healing, wisdom for her doctors, strength for the days ahead, and peace for the whole family.

Thank you, church, for praying. Thank you for standing together as the body of Christ. And above all, thank You, Lord, for Your mercy and for answering our prayers.

“I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.” — Psalm 9:1

To God be the glory. 🙏❤️

🙏 UPDATE: Elena Clark 🙏

Church family, thank you for the outpouring of prayers — please keep them coming, because they are being felt!

Good news: Elena is doing well. She's been up moving around and talking, which is such an encouraging sign. She's in good spirits and the family is feeling truly blessed by how things are going.

She did sustain some facial fractures and will need dental surgery, though that part will likely wait until she's back home. Right now she's heading into surgery to repair the fractures and splint her teeth, and afterward she'll be admitted to a room as soon as one is available.

Mark is still on the road making his way up to be with her and Allison. Please continue praying for:

A smooth, successful surgery.
Peace and rest for Elena as she recovers.
Safe travels for Mark.
Strength for the whole family as they navigate the days ahead.
Her dad shared this with us: "We are definitely being blessed with the outcome — she's alive and doing well." ❤️‍🩹

Thank you all for surrounding this family with love and prayer. We'll keep you posted. 🙏

🙏 URGENT PRAYER REQUEST 🙏

Church family, we need you to drop what you're doing and pray right now.

Elena Clark was in a serious bike accident at church camp in New York — she face-planted hard and is being airlifted to a trauma center as we speak. She is coherent but in critical condition.

Her mom, Allison Clark, is already there with her. Her dad, Mark Clark, is on the road right now, driving up to be by her side. Please lift up their whole family, including Elena's siblings, as they navigate these next crucial hours.

Please pray for:

Elena's complete healing and protection over her body, especially her head and neck.
Wisdom, skill, and clear minds for the medical team treating her.
Peace and strength for Mark and Allison Clark as they wait for answers.
Comfort for Elena's siblings, wherever they are right now.
Safe travel for Mark as he drives to be with his daughter.

"The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit." — Psalm 34:18

We will share updates as we have them. Please keep this family covered in prayer and reach out with love and support in the comments. 💛

An Update, and a Remembrance

Many in our community saw the news this week that an arrest has been made in the 2008 Sun Drop Murders. The Concord Police Department announced that a suspect has been charged in the deaths of Donna Barnhardt and Darrell Noles and is now in custody in Cabarrus County. After 18 long years, we pray this is a step toward justice and peace for their families.

For our church family, this news touches close to home. One of our own members was at the Sun Drop Company that very morning. Donna had just handed her signs to help advertise our upcoming BBQ sale — one more act of kindness from a woman known for them. Donna gave our church free Sun Drop drinks for every BBQ sale we held, and those who knew her and Darrell remember them both as genuinely good and generous people. Their kindness has never been forgotten here.

As this case moves through the courts, we ask our congregation to hold the Barnhardt and Noles families in prayer, and to respect their privacy during this difficult time, just as the police have asked. Let us also pray for our community, for those who carry memories of that day, and for truth and justice to be done.

"He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." — Psalm 147:3

If this news stirs up grief or hard memories for you, please know our church doors and our pastor's ears are always open.

Case Update: The suspect wanted in connection with the 2008 murder of Donna Barnhardt and Darrell Noles, commonly known as the Sun Drop Murders, was extradited from Washington State and taken into custody by the Concord Police Department earlier this morning. The 43-year-old suspect, Johnny Steven Talbert, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder (N.C.G.S. 14-17) and one count of robbery with a dangerous weapon (N.C.G.S. 14-87). He is currently being held in the Cabarrus County Jail without bond.

Following today’s arrest, Concord Police Chief Jimmy Hughes made the following statement:

"While nothing can take away the pain and heavy burden the families have carried for the last 18 years, today our community rests a little easier knowing that we have our suspect in custody and we are one step closer to bringing justice to Donna, Darrell, and their families.

Our priority is the victims and their families, and our focus is on ensuring the case continues through the judicial system fairly and without compromise. We will continue to respect the privacy of the families during this difficult time and will not be making additional comments and no further information will be released.”
