CSI had a great outing (indoors in this heat) to Benny's for pizza and the Basement Arcade.

We have had a huge success this week at VBS. We have averaged 30 children each night. We have collected 355 items so far for the Son Shine Bag Program. If anyone would like to still contribute to this community service activity, see below for what we need. The boys are in the lead with 241 items. The congregation is invited to our closing at 7:45 Friday night to hear the songs that the kids have learned this week.

Father’s Day brought a double blessing to our Cross of Christ family this year. As we honored the fathers, grandfathers, and father‑figures who faithfully guide their families in love, we also witnessed a beautiful moment of faith: the baptism of two of our school‑aged children.

On a day when we celebrate those who nurture and protect us, we were reminded of our Heavenly Father who calls each of us by name and places His light within us. Through the waters of baptism, these children were marked with the cross of Christ forever — claimed, loved, and welcomed into the family of faith.

The light God has kindled in them is a gift to all of us. As they grow, learn, and discover the world around them, may that light shine with courage, kindness, and joy. And as a church family, may we surround them with prayer, encouragement, and the steady support that helps young faith flourish.

We give thanks for the families who brought them forward, for the joy they bring to our congregation, and for the generations of faith that continue to shape our community. May God bless these children richly as they let their light shine in their homes, their schools, and everywhere God leads them.
