I don’t know about you, but this week is pretty busy with preparations for the upcoming festivities.

I needed this reminder to slow my pace and become more intentional and focused on the birth of Jesus—Immanuel, God with us—the newborn King.

What are your spiritual goals for this holiday season?

I imagine you might long for the presence of Christ, especially during this year. Most likely, you desperately want the cycle of chaos to slow and just savor the presence of the Savior.

Dear friend, that is God’s promise to you this year. You can delight in His presence, savor every second of the season, and spend more time making memories. Just say yes to His invitation of spending time focusing on Him this season.

So, what *are* your spiritual goals for this season? Write them down.

If you’re struggling to find the joy at the end of a year filled with anxiety, grief, and lots of noise, say this prayer today:

Father, I want to have joy this season, especially when I miss family/friends that aren’t here anymore, and even more so because this year has just been hard. Will you help me to find joy? Will you help me focus on You, Jesus? Fill my heart with joy and celebration this Christmas season. Amen
