Concord Bible Church

We give God thanks for His leading throughout our 36 years at Concord Bible. He has been so faithful, and, as a dear lady reminded me, He is worthy of our trust! So true, even when we don't understand what He's doing.

As I think back on all the saints that we have served with and worshipped with throughout the years, I remember many sweet times of fellowship with so many dear folks! It has been a pleasure to get to know God's people! And the church has always taken good care of us, giving us a trip to Israel in 2014, and then also giving us an Alaskan cruise when we had been at the church for 30 years. Several very sweet people have graduated and are now with our Lord. I look forward to seeing them again someday!

It is never easy to end something that has been so dear to one's heart, but we know the Lord will continue to sustain us as we go forward into Tom's retirement. Tom has always strived to preach the whole council of God. I know his heart always was to convey Truth. I know many that would say that they grew by leaps and bounds under his ministry. I know I have! And I pray that we've both been a testimony of God's grace as we've served at CBC.

We are thankful for Risen Church, and their stand on the Word of God. His truth is their focal point in everything they do. The facility is in good hands with them, and we look forward to what God will do in the future.

Please pray for Risen Church as they make this transition, and we appreciate your prayers for us (especially Tom's health).

Fifty-four years ago, God laid it on the heart of Reverend CR Allison to donate the four-acre piece of property where the facilities of CBC stand today. His burden was to see the gospel preached clearly and boldly from God's word. That began in the early 1970's under the leadership of Reverend John Belk, continuing into the 1980's under Reverend Bill Krewson, and then with me when I was called in 1988. I thank the Lord for giving me thirty-six years to continue this gospel legacy which will be handed to Reverend Ian Kitchen and the members of Risen Church in June.

I offer my heartfelt thank you to each of the current members of CBC for faithfully serving with me, some for more than 30 years! More than anyone, I am thankful for Becky, my wife of forty-two years, for her faithfulness as a loving wife and mother, and her selfless example as a servant of the church. I would not have continued as pastor without her constant encouragement and sacrifice.

We give all glory to God who has kept us by His grace and enabled us to accomplish those things that will last for eternity. May the Lord bless you all and keep you until the day we see His face, in glory!
