On Sunday, Pastor Jim gave us a phrase. He called it our church code — something to say to one another when somebody is in the middle of a long, hard road:

"He who promised is faithful."

Not "you've got this." Not "everything happens for a reason." Just six words that put hope back where it belongs — on the One who made the promise, not the one trying to hang on to it.

When the diagnosis is bad. When the marriage is hard. When the doctor doesn't have a next step and you can't see what's coming. You don't have to hold on harder. You have to remember Who is holding on to you.

So this week — if you see somebody on mile twelve of a thirteen-mile run, say it. He who promised is faithful. And if it's you on mile twelve, preach it to yourself.

We finished up another season of Man Church, tailgating outside. We're thankful to the Lord for these monthly gatherings when we can worship and fellowship together with men of all ages. Come join us in August when we begin Season 10 of Man Church!!
