Scripture:
Acts 4:32-37
Acts 9:26-30
Acts 11:19-26
Notes:
Barnabas never could have guessed where his faithful obedience was going to lead.
We rarely know what the outcome will be when we say "yes" to God, and that's a good thing!

Sermon Scripture:
Psalm 51
2 Samuel 11:1-17

Notes:
Long before smartphones with cameras and Facebook & Instagram reels to record people’s
failures and mistakes, David messed up big time. Something like this could easily have been
swept under the rug by a royal scribe or historian. We live in a day when the full time job of
many investigators and reporters is to reveal hidden deeds of famous figures.
What is truly remarkable is how this personal prayer of confession and transparency became a
public acknowledgment of a man’s choice to humble himself before Almighty God.
Though our choices may not be the same as David’s, the Psalm speaks to us even today.

The Cast of Acts
“Paul: One Message, Two Methods"
Scripture:
Acts 13:2-3, 14-20, 26-39
Acts 17:16-34
Notes:
Saul was a Pharisee who persecuted and attempted to destroy the Church by prosecuting and
punishing Christians. After his encounter with the resurrected Jesus, he became not only an
evangelist, but a church planter, discipler, missionary and prolific writer. His name change may
have entailed the transformation he went through, or it may have just been the Greek version of
his Hebrew name. Whatever the case, he became a witness to both Jews and Gentiles; those of
the Jewish faith and those of pagan religions. He had only one message: the Good News of
Jesus Christ; yet he had different methods for conveying this truth to the different people he
shared with.
1) Observe
One of the best ways to understand someone is to ask questions and then listen, watch and
observe. When we hear someone and truly listen, we’ll pick up on far more than just the
meaning of their words.
2) Search
Luke doesn’t record each of Paul’s prayers while he was in Athens, but I guarantee you he
was asking God for wisdom while searching for common ground. Reflect on your conversations
with the person you’re listening to.
3) Proclaim

When you are ready to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with, speak with courage and
boldness. One of the ways you can take your next step in faith is by filling out the Connect
Card. Scan the QR code and fill out the form!

The Cast of Acts
"Yes Lord; Here I Am."
Scripture:
Acts 7:57-60, 8:1-3, 9:1-22, 22:6-10, 26:12-18
Notes:
Description
As the early Church began to grow, opposition showed up powerfully in a Pharisee named Saul.
He first appeared as the leader of the group of men who stoned Stephen on the basis of
blasphemy. In order to extend his political and religious influence, driven by a fiery zeal for the
Law, Saul arrested, imprisoned and executed followers of Jesus. He headed out to Damascus to
search the many synagogues there to root out and put an end to this new movement. While on
the road with his companions, he encountered the resurrected Jesus and wasn’t prepared for
what was next.
Next Steps
One simple prayer:
“Yes Lord: Here I Am-lead me.”
What is the one conversation, one phone call, one text, one coworker, one choice God is
leading you to?

What is the conversation, phone call, text, coworker or choice you are avoiding?

Commit to obeying God in that situation with courage.

One of the ways you can find someone to walk with you is by filling out the Connect Card. Click
the link below and fill out the form to take that next step!
