"The Beginning Of The End" Luke 21:5-24 prt 2

09/02/2026

“As for these things which you are looking at, the days will come in which there will not be left one stone upon another which will not be torn down.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭21‬:‭6‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

On Sunday, we continued our journey through Luke as Pastor Jon Polk preached about the Lord’s second coming in the sermon titled “The Beginning of the End”. As Pastor Jon walked us through the 1st point, “The Prediction of the Coming Judgement”, he reminded us that we do not have to wonder how the coming judgment will look because the word of God has already told us. As Christians, this should give us hope and fuel us to continue on the path towards righteousness. For others, come to Jesus while there is still time.

‭‭Acts‬ ‭2‬:‭42‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

On Last Sunday, we paused our journey through Luke as Executive Pastor Rob Jones preached our monthly discipleship sermon titled “4 Qualities Of Healthy Discipleship Culture”. Pastor Rob walked us through four points:
1. Faithful Teaching: We are formed by truth.
2. Faithful Fellowship: We are formed through relationships.
3. Faithful Remembrance: We are formed by the gospel.
4. Faithful Prayer: We are formed through dependence.

“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭15‬:‭58‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

On Sunday, we paused our journey through Luke as Pastor Jonathan Polk preached our monthly discipleship sermon titled “Future Hope Fueled by Present Perseverance” (1 Corinthians 15:58). Pastor Jon emphasized theology should produce practice. So as a disciple, we should be overwhelmed and assured by the certainty of future victory in Christ that it shapes how we live today and carry out God’s commandments. We should be willingly pouring out faithful service to the Lord.

“And He said to them, “Then render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.””
‭‭Luke‬ ‭20‬:‭25‬ ‭NASB1995‬‬

On Sunday, we continued our journey through Luke as Elder Caleb Oliver preached from Luke 20:19-26. Elder Caleb walked us through another encounter Jesus had with the scribes, and chief priests as they attempted to challenge Jesus. Elder Caleb reminded us of the importance of submitting to governing authorities, but even more so, submitting to God, and keeping Him at the forefront of ALL our decisions by hearing Him and obeying Him. In this snippet, Elder Caleb ends his sermon with the story of Polycarp.
