It arrives after a loss, a diagnosis, a season that ended, and then it stays. And somehow we're still expected to go to work, lead our families, and show up everyday.

This Thursday October 1st, Dr. Doretha Cooper is opening an honest conversation about how we keep living, working, leading, serving, and believing while grief stays.

WE ALL NEED A SHEPHERD!

Just as the Lord is our Shepherd in the Spirit, God has also given shepherds in the natural to feed, guide, teach, protect, pray for, and watch over His flock.

A true shepherd understands: the sheep belong to GOD.

Pastors are not called to build their own kingdom or lead according to personal agendas. They are called to be used and led by God because they have been entrusted with God’s people.

If you already have a pastor and church home, honor the shepherd God has placed in your life. Pray for them. Receive the Word. Stay teachable. Stay accountable. Stay connected. Don’t allow offense, familiarity, or temporary frustration to cause you to overlook the value of godly spiritual leadership.

But if you genuinely do not have a pastor or church home, I admonish you: begin seeking one today. You need a shepherd, and now is a perfect time to get planted!

Start by praying and asking God for direction. Look for a Bible-believing church where Jesus is exalted, the Word of God is faithfully preached, prayer is a priority, and the pastor demonstrates godly character. Attend consistently, not just once. Listen to the teaching, observe the fruit of the ministry, ask questions about what the church believes, and seek God before making your commitment.

Don’t choose a shepherd simply because they tell you what you want to hear. Seek the shepherd who will faithfully give you what God says you need.

You were never meant to walk this journey alone. There is strength in being covered, taught, accountable, connected, and planted.

Watch. Receive. Be encouraged. Be blessed by the Word!
