📘 Journaling Our Community History 📜

Be a part of recording Commerce History in your own stories, art, and memories! Led by Commerce Public Library Local Historian Jesse Worley, this program lasts the rest of the summer and is open to everyone! Join us Wednesday for an afternoon of journaling and creating art about Commerce!

Journals and sketchbooks (and pens and pencils) will be provided and each participant will be able to add their own memories and drawings before passing the journal to the next writer. Journals can also be checked out at the library after the event by anyone who wants to take them home and add to them!

Subject In Saturday Afternoon Pursuit Identified.

Late Saturday afternoon Hunt County Sheriff's Dispatch advised that Collin County Sheriff's Deputies were in pursuit with a white Kia SUV heading eastbound into Hunt County. The pursuit began in Farmersville after Collin County Sheriff's Deputies observed a person with a felony warrant. The subject led Collin County Deputies and a DPS Trooper on a chase east out of Farmersville on US380. Hunt County law enforcement including HCSO Deputies, Greenville and Caddo Mills Police Officers responded to the US380 area setting up spike strips in certain aeas. The subject made evasive U-turns on US380 eventually going back towards Farmersville. The DPS-101 helicopter arrived and a DPS Trooper effected a successful PIT maneuver just west of the Hunt/Collin County line. The fleeing driver was taken in to custody and transported to the Collin County Detention Center.

Justin Lee Pukrop, age 31, was arrested on a felony warrant of aggravated sexual assault of a child (May 4 2026) along with new charges of evading arrest with a vehicle, possession of ma*****na and driving while intoxicated. Pukrop has address at an RV park in unincorporated Farmersville zip listed on his Saturday book in report. Justin Pukrop was arrested by the Oklahoma Highway Patrol this past March 2nd for DUI, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting Arrest and Transporting an Open Container of Intoxicating Beverage (all misdemeanor charges), his white Kia Sorento was impounded. At the time of that arrest Pukrop had an listed address in Sherman Texas. Justin Pukrop does not show to have any felony or serious misdemeanor convictions.

ALl persons accused or charged with a crime are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
