Friday Faith Focus 🕊️

📖 “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.”
Proverbs 16:3

This verse reminds us that we may make plans, but ultimately it is the Lord who guides our steps. We are encouraged to commit our work to God, to examine the motives of our hearts, and to walk in faith rather than relying only on our own understanding.

🙏 Disaster Relief Fund: Nepal and Tibet

PC(USA) is collecting donations for their Disaster Relief Assistance Fund to go towards the victims of the recent devastating flooding in Nepal and Tibet. If you would like to give to this cause, please make your checks out to the church and in the memo line write "Nepal-Tibet."

We will include a cover letter to ensure our offerings go towards the flooding victims in Nepal and Tibet.

Rest in Peace, Dolly 🦋

On August 25th, we lost the American icon, Dolly Parton. Dolly touched the lives of many and connected people all over the world, not only with her performance career, but with her Christian values.

Sunday, We honored her passing with a single black ribbon on the American flag that stands in the Sanctuary, and Pastor Jeff recited this quote from Dolly herself: "If you're the fine Christian that you think you are, why are you judging people? That's God's job."

We couldn't have said it better ourselves.

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton. 💜

🙏 Disaster Relief Fund: Nepal & Tibet Flooding
If you would like to donate to the relief effort that is currently happening in Nepal and Tibet after the devastating flooding that took place last week, please make your checks out to the church and in the memo line write “Nepal-Tibet” relief. We will provide a cover letter indicating our funds are to go directly to the Nepal-Tibet” relief effort. Please have your donations to the church no later than September 13th.

🌸 Presbyterian Ladies Group
The Ladies Group will meet on Saturday, September 26th at 9:00 a.m. in Fellowship Hall. Coffee and donuts will be served. This will be a planning meeting for the year’s activities and to announce the upcoming Bible Study. Wednesday, September 30th from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at the Jackson County Agricultural Facility in Jefferson, GA.

🛏 Peace Place Inc. Drive
We have partnered with Peace Place Inc. for a year-long drive in anticipation for their new facility. You may donate the items they are asking for by purchasing them on Amazon, or by making a monetary donation. Please see Pastor Jeff if you plan on purchasing a donation beforehand to assure that it is the correct product and color they are requesting! More information can be found in Words to Live By.
