Fisher Board Fellows

Fisher Board Fellows Fisher Board Fellows is a student-run organization at the Fisher College of Business that places MBA students on the boards of non-profit organizations.

Founded in the summer of 2004, Fisher Board Fellows (FBF) is a student-run organization at the Max M. Fisher College of Business at The Ohio State University. FBF brings together the Columbus community and the College by selecting Fisher MBA candidates and placing them on boards of area non-profits as non-voting members for eighteen month terms. Fellows, mentored by a board member and with the ful

l support of the non-profit executive director and board chair, contribute to their non-profit organizations by attending all board and assigned committee meetings. In addition, Fellows complete a strategic, board-level project that harnesses the Fellow’s business expertise and adds long-term value to the partner organization. FBF develops relationships that are beneficial to all parties. Fellows gain valuable experience working with non-profits and senior business leaders. Boards receive new perspectives from experienced professionals and educated analysis on topics integral to the success of their organizations. Current boards include:

Two FBF partners are mentioned in the Columbus Dispatch today - Catholic Social Services and LifeCare Alliance. Check out the article below to see how these organizations are helping senior immigrants in the Columbus community.

Starting over in a new country is difficult for anyone, but especially older immigrants and refugees. In addition to being traumatized from having to leave their homelands and being separated from loved ones, they often have to deal with cognitive declines, health problems, isolation and loss of ind…

Last Friday, Fisher AMP and FBF partnered for the first Marketing For A Better World event! The event brought together non-profit and business professionals, undergraduate and graduate students, and faculty and staff of the Fisher College of Business. Check out the photos below!

This past Friday, AMP in partnership with FBF hosted the first ever Marketing for a Better World (MBW). The event brought together those who are dedicated to marketing, service, and bettering the community! It featured speakers from CleanTurn, Wendy's, and Cardinal Health who spoke about the challenges and triumphs of integrating business with corporate social responsibility. There was also an interactive workshop where diverse teams of Fisher undergraduate and graduate students, faculty members, and business professionals worked to further explore these issues with representatives from local non-profits. Overall it was an awesome event and we are looking forward to seeing it grow in the coming years!

Check out Fisher Board Fellows on the Fisher Grad Life Blog for Fisher Impact Day!!

She paused to say something in Spanish to the two other regular volunteers. I smiled because everyone else was so happy, but…
