I feel a Metro Harvest Church reunion Tent Crusade brewing for the late summer/fall 2022
Metro Harvest Church was an Outreach Church birthed out of World Harvest Church, Pastor Rod Parsley, from 2003-2009, with four locations on each side of town, in the government projects of Columbus Ohio. We called these satellite outreach churches, Hope Centers. These Hope Centers averaged about 230 people per week from the neighborhood, per Hope center. When we first started in 2003, we started by praying for our inner city neighbourhoods every day from 5am to 7am every morning, and all night every Friday Night from 11pm to 6am. Out of prayer, the Spirit of God prompted us to host a cookout crusade on Main and 18th where my Father's church was as a kid. Our focus was that whole Main Street area.” On a Saturday afternoon in September of 2003 the ministry fed the whole neighborhood, played music, danced, preached and offered an altar call.
“We had about 300 people get saved,” “The first thing we began to do was develop teams to visit (those who got saved),” “We would take vans and go into the Main Street area where the 300 had gotten saved and we would just go into their homes and disciple them in there houses and then bring them on buses to Church on Sundays.” From there the teams helped create home-based discipleship classes throughout the Main Street area.
We developed a database to keep track of each person saved. “When people came to the Hope Centers we offered classes in job placement and interviewing skills, money management, a four-week class that taught Bible basics to the newly saved, a six-month drug and alcohol recovery class, GED classes, computer training and more. We even began given away cars to those who consistently attended and met set criteria. It has been my greatest joy to see many of the Metro leaders go on to Pastor their own churches all over the world, and see the fruit of the years they sowed into the outreach ministry of Metro Harvest Church produce in their own cities and nations.
