Have you ever thought about how Jesus’ life began and ended with wood and nails?

From the moment He entered this world, there was a powerful message woven into His story. A baby was born in a manger—a lowly bed crafted from wood and nails. That manger, though simple and humble, foreshadowed the purpose of His life and the sacrifice to come.

No, the promised Messiah wasn’t born into riches or royalty, as many expected. Instead, He came humbly, cradled in a wooden trough surrounded by animals, a symbol of His great love for the least and the lowly. But even as this miraculous birth unfolded, the shadow of the cross loomed in the distance.

Years later, the same hands that once clutched the wood of the manger were pierced by nails on the cross. The wood and nails that once held Him as an infant would later hold His broken body, a sacrifice for all humanity. From the beginning to the end, Jesus’ story was one of humility, love, and redemption—fulfilled through the same simple materials that tell the greatest story ever told.

Have you taken time to reflect on how this beautiful truth reveals the depth of God’s plan and His unending love for you?

🌟 My Word for 2025: Obedience 🌟

As I reflect on this season of my life, I find myself standing at a crossroads. My kids are growing, my shirt business has shifted in ways I didn’t expect, and God has placed something on my heart with Grace Abounding Ministry and the new Loved Teen/Preteen Girls Conference.

2024 has been a year of change and surrender. I’ve pushed against God's plans for me—especially in business—because I had my own ideas of how things should unfold. But, as He often does, God has gently reminded me that His ways are higher than mine, and His timing is perfect.

So, for 2025, my word is obedience. I feel God calling me to listen more closely to His voice and to walk in His direction, no matter what that looks like. Whether that’s in my home, my teaching career, or this ministry, I want to be open to what God has next for me.

I’m still praying over the verse that will accompany this word, but I’m trusting that as I seek Him, He will reveal it. For now, my focus is on surrendering my own plans and walking in faithful obedience, even when I don’t fully understand the path ahead.

I believe this year is all about saying “yes” to God’s call, no matter where it leads. If you’re in a season of change or stepping out in faith too, I’d love to walk this journey of obedience alongside you.

🌟 Welcome to the final day of the “Choose Your Word and Verse for 2025” Training! 🌟

You’ve set your goals, chosen your word, discovered your verse, and made a plan to live them out. Today, we’ll talk about the power of community—because you don’t have to walk this journey alone!

Step 1: Why Community Matters
God designed us for connection. When we surround ourselves with people who encourage and support us, we grow stronger in our faith and purpose. Community provides:

Accountability: Others can help keep you focused on your word and verse.
Encouragement: Share your struggles and victories with others who are cheering you on.
Perspective: Gain insights and ideas from others living out their words and verses.
Hebrews 10:24-25 reminds us:
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together…but encouraging one another."

Step 2: Ways to Build Your Community
Here are a few ways to find or build a community to support your 2025 journey:

Share Your Word and Verse: Tell your family, friends, or church group about your word and verse. Let them know how they can encourage you.
Partner Up: Ask a friend or small group to join you in choosing their own word and verse. Meet regularly to share progress and pray together.
Join Online Communities: Many groups on social media or faith-based platforms focus on growth, accountability, and encouragement. Seek out a group that aligns with your goals.
Keep the Conversation Going: Don’t let this be a one-time activity. Continue reflecting on your word and verse with others throughout the year.
Step 3: Take Action Today
Share Your Word and Verse Below: Use the comments section to tell us your word and verse. Let’s create a supportive community right here!
Reach Out: Text or call a friend and share your word and verse. Invite them to join you in choosing one for themselves.

Looking Ahead
If you’ve enjoyed these guided sessions and found them helpful, imagine being part of a community that focuses on encouragement, growth, and faith throughout the year.

💡 Starting in January, we’re launching a Grace Abounding Ministry Membership Trial Team. This group will include:

Weekly Bible readings and guided devotionals.
Community connection and support.
Exclusive tools to help you stay aligned with your word and verse.

This one-month trial is completely free! If you’d like to be part of it, sign up here:

🌟 Welcome to Day 4 of the “Choose Your Word and Verse for 2025” Training! 🌟

You’ve chosen your word and found the perfect verse to guide you—what an incredible foundation for the year ahead! Now it’s time to take action. Today, we’ll focus on practical ways to live out your word and verse every day in 2025.

Step 1: Reflect on What Your Word and Verse Mean to You
Spend some time journaling or praying through these questions:

Why did you choose this word and verse?
What specific goals or actions does your word inspire you to pursue?
How does your verse give you encouragement, strength, or perspective?
Take note of any specific areas of your life where you feel led to apply your word and verse.

Step 2: Keep Them Front and Center
Make your word and verse a daily reminder by keeping them visible! Here are a few ideas:

Write them on sticky notes and place them where you’ll see them often (like your bathroom mirror, desk, or car dashboard).
Create a phone wallpaper with your word and verse.
Add them to your planner, journal, or Bible study notes.
Say them out loud during your daily prayer or devotion time.
When your word and verse are part of your daily rhythm, they’ll naturally guide your thoughts, decisions, and actions.

Step 3: Take Action
Your word isn’t just something to think about—it’s something to live out. Here’s how:

Set Small Goals: Break your goals for 2025 into smaller, actionable steps that reflect your word and verse. For example, if your word is "trust," commit to surrendering one worry to God every day.
Create Habits: Align your routines and habits with your word. For example, if your word is "peace," set aside time each day for prayer or quiet reflection.
Look for Opportunities: Be intentional about living your word in your relationships, work, and personal life. For example, if your word is "kindness," look for ways to serve others daily.

Encouragement for the Day
James 1:22 reminds us:
"Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says."

Living out your word and verse is an active, daily choice. It doesn’t require perfection—just faithfulness. Trust that God will guide you as you step into His plans for your life.

Share Your Progress!
What steps are you taking to live out your word and verse? Share in the comments below—we’d love to hear how you’re putting them into action!

What’s Next?
Tomorrow, we’ll explore building a community around your word and verse. Walking this journey alongside others creates accountability, encouragement, and deeper connection.

🌟 Welcome to Day 3 of the “Choose Your Word and Verse for 2025” Training! 🌟

You’ve set your goals and discovered your word—amazing work! Today, we’re taking it a step further by finding a Bible verse to guide and encourage you throughout 2025.

Your verse will ground your word in God’s truth, offering spiritual direction and a constant reminder of His presence in your journey.

Step 1: Reflect on Your Word
Take a moment to think about the word you chose yesterday.

What does this word mean to you?
How do you see this word aligning with God’s plans for your life?
In what areas of your life do you need encouragement or strength to live out this word?
Step 2: Search the Scriptures
Now it’s time to dig into God’s Word! Use the following methods to find your verse:

Bible Concordance or Search Tools

Look up your word or related words (e.g., "trust," "joy," "strength") in a Bible concordance or online search tool like BibleGateway.com.
Ask God to Lead You

Spend time in prayer, asking God to guide you to the verse that aligns with your word and goals.
Reflect on Favorite Passages

Think about verses or chapters that have encouraged you in the past. Do they connect to your word?
Step 3: Choose a Verse
Once you’ve explored some possibilities, choose the verse that speaks to your heart the most. Your verse doesn’t have to include your word, but it should reflect the message or theme God is calling you to focus on.

Here are some examples of popular words paired with verses to inspire you:

Trust: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5
Joy: “The joy of the Lord is your strength.” – Nehemiah 8:10
Peace: “The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” – Psalm 29:11
Strength: “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.” – Philippians 4:13
Hope: “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” – Jeremiah 29:11
Write your verse down somewhere meaningful, like in your journal or on a sticky note where you’ll see it daily.

Step 4: Personalize Your Verse
As you reflect on your verse, think about how it applies to your life. Ask yourself:

What is God saying to me through this verse?
How can this verse encourage and guide me in 2025?
In what ways can I live out this verse in my daily life?
Encouragement for the Day
Isaiah 55:11 says:
"So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

God’s Word is powerful and alive. The verse you choose will be a source of strength and encouragement, reminding you of God’s promises as you live out your word.

Share Your Verse!
What verse have you chosen to pair with your word? Share it in the comments below! You never know who might need the encouragement your verse brings.

Tomorrow’s Focus: Now that you have your word and verse, we’ll explore practical ways to keep them at the forefront of your life in 2025.

Day 2: Discovering Your Word for 2025
🌟 Welcome to Day 2 of the “Choose Your Word and Verse for 2025” Training! 🌟

Now that you’ve spent time reflecting on your goals and envisioning what you want your 2025 to look like, it’s time to find the word that will guide and inspire you throughout the year.

Your word will act as a compass—a simple yet powerful reminder of where God is leading you.

Step 1: Pray for Guidance
Before you start brainstorming, take a moment to pray. Ask God to open your heart and mind to His guidance.

Here’s a simple prayer you can use:
"Lord, thank You for the vision You’ve placed on my heart for the coming year. As I seek to find my word for 2025, guide me to a word that reflects Your will for my life and draws me closer to You. Amen."

Step 2: Brainstorm
Spend some time thinking about words that align with the goals and vision you set yesterday. Here are some prompts to get you started:

What do you feel God is calling you to focus on in 2025?
What word captures the person you want to become or the growth you want to experience?
Is there an area of your life that needs extra attention, such as faith, family, health, or purpose?
How do you want to feel as you walk through 2025 (e.g., peaceful, joyful, strong)?
Write down any words that come to mind, even if they don’t seem perfect right away.

Step 3: Reflect on the Possibilities
Look at the list of words you brainstormed. Circle or highlight the ones that stand out most to you. Think about how each word aligns with the goals and vision you’ve set for 2025.

Here are some examples of words to inspire you:
Trust
Hope
Courage
Growth
Peace
Joy
Strength
Patience
Surrender
Focus
Perseverance

Some of ours over the years have been Grace, Bloom, Abide, Intentional, and Faith. I will share with you my 2025 word on Friday!

Step 4: Let God Confirm Your Word
Once you’ve narrowed it down to 1–2 words, spend time in prayer again. Ask God to confirm the word He’s placed on your heart. You might also notice your word standing out to you in scripture, sermons, or even everyday conversations.

Encouragement for the Day
Proverbs 16:9 says:
"In their hearts humans plan their course, but the Lord establishes their steps."

Your word isn’t about perfection—it’s about intention. Let your word reflect the journey God is leading you on in 2025, trusting that He will guide every step.

Share Your Word!
Once you’ve chosen your word, share it in the comments below! You might inspire someone else who’s still searching for theirs.

Tomorrow’s Focus: Now that you have your word, we’ll look at finding a Bible verse to support and strengthen your focus for the year.

✨ What’s your word for 2025? Let’s celebrate and encourage each other as we prepare for an amazing year! ✨
