The Refinery Church

The Refinery Church The story of our church started in faithful obedience to a God-given vision.

Helping people love & follow Jesus for life
📍 Scioto River corridor immediately adjacent to Hilliard and Upper Arlington
🕘 Sundays 9:30 + 11AM
3915 Dublin Rd, Columbus, Ohio 43221 This vision was of a church that is vitally linked to its community, shows God’s love through acts of kindness/service, and strives to demonstrate the relevance of the word of God in today’s culture. In 2003, this vision

turned into a reality as Brad Kochis and his family responded in faith to start what is now known as The Refinery Church. The church began as a small gathering of people in the Kochis’ living room while they sought the opportunity for a more permanent location. Northwest Evangelical Church, which occupied the property where The Refinery now sits, opened up their facilities to join as partners in the new work , and the two groups came together to form a new church. Today, many more people now call The Refinery their church home, and it is a place where you can come as you are, experience God’s grace, and grow in faith. Almost 20 years later, we still desire to be a church that helps people, from all ages and walks of life, love and follow Jesus for life. The journey of faith is a refining process, and we invite you to join us as our story continues to unfold.

You've been given something the world needs.

Gifts. Abilities. A unique story. And none of it is meant to stay in your pocket.

God shaped you on purpose to serve a purpose. At The Refinery, we serve at church, in our community, and around the world. Not out of obligation, but because service is one of the most powerful ways we say: this is what I'm for.

What's a moment when serving others left you more full than you expected? We want to hear your story in the comments.

A disciple chooses to spend time with Jesus to learn from Jesus how to become like Jesus.

As we become like Jesus we find ourselves more and more doing what Jesus did.

Happy Father's Day to all the incredible men in our church family!

"A godly example is a father's richest inheritance." — J.C. Ryle

What a powerful reminder of the lasting impact of a faithful father. Not in possessions or achievements, but in a life lived for God.

To every man who has shown up, sacrificed, prayed over his family, and pointed his children toward Jesus, thank you. The work you do every single day matters for eternity. We love our church family and we're so glad to do life together.

Today, we pause to remember and celebrate Juneteenth, a profound moment in our nation's history when the chains of slavery were broken over 150 years ago.

May we continue to point people to the fullest form of freedom afforded to us all, freedom from shame, fear, brokenness, and even death itself, a freedom that is found in walking closely with Jesus. Today and every day, may we pursue that freedom together, and may we extend it to every person around us.

There are some experiences that words simply can't capture. Serving in Guatemala was one of them. 🇬🇹

God has shown up in so many ways during the team's time here. Thank you for your prayers, your support, and your love for this team. And we are so grateful.

You were never meant to do this alone.

Real life change, the kind that sticks, happens in relationships. Not in a highlight reel. Not in a solo quiet time. In the messy, beautiful, honest space of community.

That's why we don't just attend church together. We do life together.

Whether it's a small group, a dinner table, or showing up for someone in a hard week, this is how we Love People well.

Tag someone who has shown you what community looks like. Let them know they matter.

He determines the number of the stars and calls them each by name...

God, Master Artist of all creation, imagines and creates all the stars that have ever been seen and that ever will be seen. His nimble hands carefully affix each celestial body in its designated position and in its designated time. Nothing random or coincidental. Each one unique, known, called by name, and created to display his glorious majesty.

And we are no different. God's incomparably brilliant mind imagined and loved each of us before the beginning of time. His careful hands formed us in the secret place and brought us forth into our own unique positions within the constellation of humanity. We are not accidental or arbitrary. We are intentionally created in his image, known, named and purposed to shine brightly in our relative spheres of influence.

This painting aims to reflect the meticulous care God takes while creating and the beautiful variety of that which he creates.

Painting by Amanda Burkhardt. Stop by the foyer this weekend to see it in person.
