Today, we kicked off our brand-new 8-week series on the Book of Judges with a message titled "The Myth of 'My Truth'."
If you missed it, we looked at the haunting final verse of Judges: "In those days there was no king in Israel. Everyone did what was right in their own eyes." We saw that when we abandon God's truth for extreme individualism, we don't drift into freedom—we spiral into chaos. It’s the literal "un-creation" of a society.
Where are we going next?
Over the next seven weeks, we are diving into the gritty, unfiltered stories of Judges. We will be looking at unexpected deliverers like Ehud, Deborah, Gideon, and Samson.
Here is what you can expect as we journey through this book:
The Danger of the Drift: We will look at how easily we compromise with the culture around us and how to fight "Spiritual Amnesia."
Flawed Heroes, Relentless Grace: We will see how God uses deeply broken people to accomplish His purposes.
The Search for a True King: Every week, we will see how the temporary, flawed judges of the Old Testament point us to our desperate need for a perfect Savior—a King who saves us, secures our obedience, and never dies.
If you are exhausted from the chaos of trying to be the king of your own life, you will not want to miss this series.
This Week’s Challenge: Don’t forget to start building your Rule of Life! Commit to just 10 minutes a day (5 minutes reading the Gospel of John, 5 minutes in prayer) to stop the drift before the spiral begins.
See you next Sunday for Week 2! 📖👑
