Read Philippians 2
As previously noted, this chapter focuses on the believer patterning their thinking after the mind of Christ (v.5). A simple mind focusing on one thing— the redemption of mankind.
A submissive, sacrificial mind, willing to do whatever was necessary to accomplish that one task. Salvation is for all who are willing to look to Jesus as their LORD!
Paul then makes another assessment.
He realizes there is no one in Philippi who is able to take care of what needs to be done. So, he’s going to send Timothy and Epaphroditus first, then he plans to join them (v.19-30).
This brings an interesting question to us all. Is there something the LORD would like you/us to do in His church? Maybe even in your local church... Maybe it’s the call to first grow in your prayer, praise, and personal Bible reading to prepare you for a greater work. It all begins with faithfulness to the LORD and His Word.

Father, mold me and fill me with the Holy Spirit to then use me for Your glory and the Church. All in the precious name of Jesus. Amen!

Read Philippians 2:1-18
Chapter 1 reveals the believer’s priority and that is “To Live is Christ.” Jesus gave His life so that we may live. Now as followers of Jesus, we are to live our lives for Him.
This call comes with a daily surrender.
As Christians, the Holy Spirit not only changes our hearts, He also changes our thinking. As we live our lives for Christ, we must pattern our thinking after Christ. This is why Paul inspires us to, “Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus.”(v.5)
This mind is a:
1) Servants Mind (v.7)
2) Simple and Humble Mind— “no reputation” (v.7-8)
3) Submissive Mind— “obedient” (v.8)
4) Sacrificial Mind— “unto death” (v.8)
As we fashion our lives and minds after the life and mind of Christ, we begin to shine as lights in a dark world (v.15)
(Prayer)
Father, Reveal Yourself to me through Your Word and the Holy Spirit, that I may know You better, trust You fully, and follow You faithfully. All for Your glory and in Jesus’ name. Amen!

Read Philippians 2:1-11
The book of Philippians can be broken down in many different ways. As we go through it, we will divide it chapter by chapter and make some additional breakdowns in each chapter. The letter was originally written to the believers in Philippi, but as with the rest of His Word, the LORD intended it for application in all of our lives (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
Here is a basic outline of all four chapters:
Chapter 1: “The Believers Priority—To Live is Christ” (1:21)
Chapter 2: “The Believers Pattern—The mind of Christ” (2:5)
Chapter 3: “The Believers Purpose—To know Christ Better” (3:10)
Chapter 4: “The Believers Power—The Power of Christ” (4:13)
Know the LORD, trust the LORD, follow the LORD, and glorify the LORD by reading the Word, believing the Word, and living the Word.
Now unto God our Father be glory for ever and ever. The grace of our LORD Jesus Christ be with you all. AMEN!

Through out the scriptures we are reminded to unite together and work together, for with many hands focused and functioning together it makes the work fruitful and actually fun.

Read Philippians 1
“For to me to live is Christ...”
Here are a few reasons why Paul could say, “For to me to live is Christ”
1) Christ was the substance of Paul’s physical life (Psalm 139:15) and spiritual life (Galatians 2:20)
2) Christ was the source (Creator) of Paul’s life (Colossians 1:16)
3) Christ was the sufficiency of Paul’s life (2 Corinthians 12:9)
Here are three of the ways Paul lived for Christ:
1) He praised the saints (v.3)
2) He prayed for the saints (v.4)
3) He presented himself to the saints (v.24)
As you read through this chapter and think on these few things, I encourage you to ask yourself these three convicting questions:
1) What is my life all about? “For to me to live is ...?”
2) Is Jesus the substance, source, and sufficiency of my life?
3) Do I praise, pray for, and faithfully make myself available to others and God’s work around me?
“Here I am LORD, use me”

Read Philippians 1:1-11
The Apostle Paul opens this letter with a greeting to all the saints (believers) and leaders (v.1). “Grace be unto you and peace...”
Paul opens most of his letters in this way. Grace is always mentioned before peace. The only way anyone can experience true internal, external, and eternal peace is to first experience the redeeming grace of God! It is possible to have seasons of peace and peaceful moments, but only the true peace of Jesus (John 14:27) can see you through every situation in this life and carry you through into life eternal. Grace must come first, and peace will follow.
Make a conscious effort to apply this same principle in your own life. When addressing situations with others, it is beneficial to display grace first. In following the example of Jesus, it is our responsibility to extend grace in difficult conversations and corrections. Disregarding this responsibility is disobedience to the Lord.

(Prayer)
Father, I pray today for Your grace to be poured out upon us. Make us recipients of Your goodness, mercy, peace, and love so we can display those fruits to others for Your glory! All in Jesus name, Amen!
