Read Psalm 119:169-176
"The Word of God is my Delight"
There are times as we walk through this life when we find ourselves wandering like lost sheep. Our only hope during those times is to cry out to the LORD for understanding, deliverance, direction, and salvation.

The Word of God was the psalmist's delight. When he faced tough situations, it was God's Word to which he would turn.
It's interesting to read the psalmist's progression. He prayed for understanding (v.169), praise came as a result of what he had learned (v.171), and he would then tell others of God's Word and its righteousness (v.172)
May the Word of God be our delight. Through our pursuit of holiness, may the hand of God prevent us from going astray and compel us to tell others to follow His way.
(Song)
"Make me a servant, humble and meek; Lord, let me lift up those who are weak. And may the prayer of my heart always be... Make me a servant today.”

"And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith"
(Galatians 6:9&10)
It is a privilege and honor to appear humbly yet boldly before the thrown of grace to pray for us all. (Hebrews 4:16)

Be strong in the LORD!

Read Psalm 119:153-160
"The Word of God is True"
Afflictions come in various ways: physical, financial, relational, emotional, spiritual, etc.
Deliverance and contentment during such times is accessible through the Comforter (the Holy Spirit) and the promises found in God's Word.
The psalmist pleaded his cause and asked the Lord to consider his afflictions, deliver him, and quicken him.
"Great are the Lord's tender mercies.”
Deliverance and new life is given according to His loving kindness. As followers of Christ, we have assurance of these promises and many more because the Word of God is true!
"Thy word is true from the beginning: and every one of thy righteous judgments endureth for ever.."(v.160)

(Prayer)
O LORD, Your Word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path. Strengthen me and reveal Your will to me through Your Word to fulfill the path You have planned for my life. All for Your glory and in Jesus’ name. Amen!

"Read Psalm 119:145-152"
"The Word of God is our hope"
Sometimes life can become overwhelming.
The psalmist may have been experiencing one of those times. This motivated him to wake up before the sun and cry out in prayer for help (v.147). He also stayed awake through the night and meditated on God's Word (v.148). With his whole heart, he cried for the LORD to hear him, save him, help him, and revive him. Opposition was on its way in the form of people who disregard God's Word. But God was already there and the promises of His truth would be the strength to carry the psalmist through.
May we learn from the psalmist and the scriptures, and apply their principles. When facing difficult times, cry out with your whole heart for God's help. It may take the sacrifice of sleep, but as we draw near to God, He promises to draw near to us, care for us, and comfort us. He is our hope!

(Prayer)
Lord, I know that through the sacrifice of Jesus, I can come to You. I am not worthy of Your favor, but You’ve given it and I accept it. It is a gift based entirely on Your goodness and not my merit. I know You do not have to bless me but I am so thankful that You do. And I will remain forever grateful and faithful to You. All for Your glory and in Jesus’ name. Amen!

"Read Psalm 119:137-144"
"The Word of God is Pure"
The psalmist calls the Word of God pure, refined, and tried. The Word in all its righteousness is also faithful. It is the psalmist's delight.
As we go through this life, trouble and anguish manage to find us (and sometimes we find it). Just as the psalmist had, we have the faithful promises of a righteous God available to us through His pure and delightful Word. It can strengthen and equip us and it gives us understanding and everlasting life.

"Righteous art thou, O LORD, and upright are thy judgments. Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it. The righteousness of thy testimonies is everlasting: give me understanding, and I shall live". (v.137, 140, 144)
