CCAF’s Bread of Life Ministry (formerly Feed the Needy) has enhanced lives with monthly outreach programs designed for Columbus’ homeless population for over 35 years! The ministry consists of an outreach team, transportation team, kitchen crew, dining area crew, ministers, children's helpers and a clothing team. We feed each individual physically, spiritually, and emotionally. One Saturday per mo
nth, we visit each area shelter and individuals are transported to and from the church. Our kitchen crew prepares a scrumptious meal, and our guests enjoy praise and worship as well as a sermon from one of our licensed ministers. Our clothing team provides free clothing, shoes, toiletries, Bibles, toys, coats, diapers and other daily necessities. On average, we serve approximately 50 people each month. During our Annual Christmas Celebration, we serve approximately 150-200 people! We partner with our church congregants, area shelters, and community members to help provide for such a large number of those in need. In addition to the usual food, singing, and clothing give-away, we provided each child with a wrapped gift to open on Christmas day! While we are blessed to provide tangible items to our guests, our main mission is to continue to lead souls to Christ at each service! Our future goals are to: continue to serve the homeless population each month, increase the amount of people we serve on an annual basis, extend our partnerships with area businesses, and continue to preach the Gospel-spreading Love, Joy, and Hope to each individual we meet! Bread of Life has 2 Co-Directors, Elder Frankie Morris and Sis. Elder Morris has been a part of the ministry for approximately 30 years, working as a Director for more than 10 years. Sister Tanika Nabrit is also the Director of the clothing ministry and has been involved with the Bread of Life since 2008.
