Dear Friends,

Last night, as we all were about to begin our Lag BaOmer celebrations, word of the tragedy from Eretz Yisrael began to spread. During what is usually one of the most festive and spiritual occasions of the year, dozens of people, including children, were crushed to death, hundreds were wounded and many are still unaccounted for. It goes without saying that our hearts are broken, as we continue to pray for all those affected by this terrible tragedy.

It is important not to let the physical distance that separates us, prevent us from fully appreciating just how devastating this was to our brothers and sisters in Eretz Yisrael. So many are besides themselves with grief. Click below for a link that can helps capture the sentiments of those in Israel. https://drive.google.com/file/d/1mLWMMwHlG6zJaePPPp9qx1fIUjQtdqLp/view?usp=sharing

It is also important not to understate the enormity of this tragedy. While throughout Corona we have grown accustomed to hearing of deaths in the hundreds of thousands- we are reminded as Jews that each and every life is infinitely precious. To lose 45 lives on Lag BaOmer should shake us to the core.

Prime Minister Netanyahu declared Sunday as a day of national mourning. Please join us Sunday morning at (Shachris at 8:30am) 9:05am for tehillim and tefillah.

May HaShem heal those who are ill, help recover all those who are missing and send a nechama to all those who are mourning.

Shabbat Shalom,
Rabbi Avi Goldstein
Rabbi Shlomo Eisenberg
