Happy June! Every month in the Catholic Church has a dedication, and June’s to the Sacred Heart of Jesus❤️‍🔥

The Sacred Heart represents Christ’s boundless love for humanity, having its roots in a series of visions from a French nun, Saint Margaret Mary Alacoque!

We are encouraged this month to deepen our devotion to the Sacred Heart through prayer, reflection, and acts of charity, so that His heart, aflame with love for us, may bring our hearts to burn with ever more love for those around us!

Alacoque wrote in one of her letters: “It is necessary that the divine heart of Jesus in some way replace our own; that he alone live and work in us and for us; that his will … work absolutely and without any resistance on our part; and finally that its affections, thoughts, and desires take the place of our own, especially his love, so that he is loved in himself and for our sakes. And so, this lovable heart being our all in all, we can say with St. Paul that we no longer live our own lives, but it is he who lives within us.” (EWTN)

Sacred Heart of Jesus, have mercy on us❤️‍🔥

Happy Pentecost.

Today we commemorate the day the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles. The Church was made manifest to the world and the disciples were given the strength to proclaim the Gospel to the world around them.

The Gospel is not a message meant for only one nation or one language or one time, but for the world. As you get deeper settled into the summer, remember that the Holy Spirit is with you always, wanting to give you the strength to make Him manifest not only in Buckeye Catholic, but to the people you now find yourself surrounded by. The same Spirit that descended upon them now continues to descend upon us, awakening our hearts to His goodness.

Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth. Renew our families, our home towns, and our new mission grounds, all for your love.

Thank you to the FOCUS and SPO missionaries at Ohio State who serve us so well.

We wouldn’t know the heart of Jesus expressed through love for friendships, love for the Sacraments, and love for fun just as we have come to know Him without your witnesses.

You have fought for our hearts to know the most important truths in life, purely out of love for us, and our gratitude could never be fully expressed.

While we are saying goodbye to many of the missionaries, we honor these men and women for the sacrifices they made for the Buckeye Catholic community, and we continue to lift them up in prayer as they transition to their next adventure in life!!

Thank you and , for we now know Jesus and His Church more because of you :)

In today’s Gospel, Jesus says to His disciples to love one another and lay down for one another, for there is no greater love than this.

This week, our student Outreach Team lived this command out by going to Cleveland to witness to the high schoolers at St. Ignatius.

Just a few years older than the students themselves, these men came to tell the students how their lives have been radically transformed in Christ through Buckeye Catholic, and how a life with Christ is the greatest adventure they could have.

What a gift for these men who are convinced of the call of sainthood on their lives to tell these high schoolers that there’s a different world for them in college than is typically presented.

Thank you, Outreach Team, for loving one another well :)

To the Class of 2026 — congratulations.

Ohio State and Buckeye Catholic have been your home, and while we'll miss you loads, we can't wait to see how you continue to set the world on fire :)

Wherever you go next, stay firm in the promise of the Lord:
"For I know well the plans I have in mind for you—oracle of the Lord—plans for your welfare and not for woe, so as to give you a future of hope."

Class of 2026, you were made with a future of hope. Keep your hearts set on Heaven, and know He will be with you always.

Today, we’re honored to spotlight senior Angie Romano.

Angie is a woman with a deep love for the Buckeye Catholic community and makes a point to make every person around her feel seen, known and loved. She has been involved with Buckeye Catholic since her freshman year and has truly blossomed as the student org Service Team Lead this year, organizing many service opportunities for the BC community.

Angie is graduating with a degree in Health Sciences on the Pre-PT track and will now be taking a gap year to work. Her favorite memories from BC were serving on the Peru mission trip this past spring break and having people over to her house for coffee and fellowship every other week!

All graduates, please join us for Baccalaureate Mass this upcoming Saturday, May 9 at 4 pm in the St. Thomas More chapel. It's an opportunity for a final Mass all together and a time to honor you!

Ask Jesus for the radical trust to take His words in today's Gospel to heart.

With every goodbye the end of the school year brings, it might seem radical to trust that He is preparing a place for you this summer. And honestly, choosing to look beyond the safety of our fears and throw ourselves into Jesus' arms IS a radical thing to do. But with every unknown, we must choose to place our trust in Him, and expect nothing less than radical, abundant love in return.

He promised to prepare a place for you, so it will be done. And it will be done abundantly.
