Here's a preview of the message for May 31: Jesus teaches in Matthew 6 that true righteousness comes from a transformed heart, not from trying to impress others. Giving, prayer, and fasting are meant to honor God, not draw attention to ourselves. Through the Lord’s Prayer, Jesus shows us how to trust God, seek His will, and depend on Him daily. Life in God’s kingdom is about humility, sincerity, and living for God’s approval—not human recognition.

Here's a little preview of the message this coming Sunday at Creekside. Jesus didn’t come to erase God’s Word—He came to fulfill it and reveal its true meaning. In Matthew 5, we see that life in God’s kingdom isn’t about outward rule-following, but inward transformation. True righteousness isn’t something we produce on our own; it’s something God forms in us as He changes our hearts from the inside out. Jesus calls us beyond surface-level goodness to a deeper life marked by love, integrity, and even love for our enemies. When our hearts are transformed by God, our lives begin to reflect His character.

The following is an overview of the message this coming Sunday. Matthew 3 and 11 highlight the call to rightly understand and respond to God’s Word: first by grasping its original meaning, then applying it to our lives today. John the Baptist prepares the way for Jesus with a bold message—repent, because God’s kingdom is near—and warns of coming judgment where what is good will remain and what is not will be removed. Jesus continues this message, calling out those who witnessed His power but refused to repent, while also extending a gracious invitation: “Come to me… and I will give you rest.” True life is found not in pursuing power or self, but in turning to Jesus in faith, becoming His disciple, and living under His leadership. The message is both urgent and hopeful—judgment is real, but so is the grace, rest, and new life Jesus freely offers to all who follow Him.
