Some of us don't need another open door.

We need the strength to stop walking back through the doors God already closed.

I know what it's like to miss people.I know what it's like to miss places.I know what it's like to miss old versions of yourself.

But I've learned something:

What God delivered me from looked familiar, but it was never good for me.

Some of us survived heartbreak.Some survived addiction.Some survived bad decisions.Some survived toxic relationships.Some survived depression, disappointment, and seasons we never talk about publicly.

And after everything God brought us through, the enemy's greatest strategy is not to destroy us.

It's to convince us to go back.

Back to old habits.Back to old mindsets.Back to old relationships.Back to old excuses.

Not this time.

I didn't survive all that God brought me through just to return to what He brought me out of.

If God brought you out, keep moving forward.

Think about this.

How many times have you given another chance to something God was trying to remove from your life?

Not because it was healthy.

Not because it was right.

But because it was familiar.

Familiar pain.
Familiar people.
Familiar habits.
Familiar cycles.

The truth is…

Some of us aren’t stuck because we don’t know better.

We’re stuck because familiar feels safer than change.

Just because it feels familiar doesn’t mean it belongs in your future.

Some relationships are familiar.

Some mindsets are familiar.

Some versions of ourselves are familiar.

But familiar and healthy are not the same thing.

The hardest part of growth is accepting that what once comforted you may be the very thing limiting you now.

This morning was heavy.

Some of us have been grieving relationships
God already transitioned.

And the painful part is…
everybody you outgrow is not toxic.
Everybody you distance yourself from is not evil.

Sometimes people were genuinely part of your journey…
just not your destiny.

One of the hardest forms of obedience
is accepting when God changes your circles.

Because some people were assigned to your survival…
but not your stewardship.
Assigned to your pain…
but not your purpose.
Assigned to your history…
but not your destiny.

And if we tell the truth…
some of us are emotionally exhausted
trying to maintain access
God has been trying to reduce.

That’s why certain conversations feel heavy now.
Certain environments feel draining now.
Certain relationships feel different now.

Not because you think you’re better.

Your assignment changed.

And when your assignment changes…
your discernment changes.
Your boundaries change.
Your priorities change.
Your tolerance changes.

Everybody cannot go where God is taking you next.

Some people only liked the version of you
that had no boundaries.
No discipline.
No healing.
No standards.

But when you started protecting your peace…
protecting your focus…
and protecting your obedience…

everything changed.

Today reminded us:
Discernment is not bitterness.
Distance is not always hate.
And protecting your assignment is not pride.

It is stewardship.

Some of us are entering a season
where we will stop feeling guilty
for becoming who God called us to be.

“Everybody can’t go.”
