Father’s Day Recap | The City of Zion Church

What a powerful Father’s Day celebration! Pastor Elgin Orton delivered a timely message, “Finding Your Voice Again,” from Genesis 1:1-3 (KJV), reminding fathers of the importance of their voice in leading, encouraging, and shaping their families.

Pastor Orton shared several reasons fathers lose their voice, including sin, fear of failure, busyness, passivity, unhealed wounds, and disconnecting from God’s voice. He also taught that fathers can reclaim their voice through repentance, returning to God, speaking life, consistency, and daily listening to the Lord.

The worship was powerful, the atmosphere was filled with God’s presence, and hearts were encouraged and challenged. We honor all fathers and father figures today, your voice, your presence, and your legacy matter.

Juneteenth is a powerful reminder that while the journey toward freedom can be long, God's promise of liberty and justice always prevails. We celebrate the resilience, the culture, and the enduring strength of our ancestors, standing firm in the truth that true freedom is a divine gift.

✨ Sunday Recap | The City of Zion ✨

What an incredible move of God today! From the very first note of worship, there was a sweet, angelic presence that filled the room. Hearts were softened, burdens were lifted, and the presence of the Lord met us in a powerful way.

Pastor delivered a timely and convicting word entitled “The Danger of Mishandling the Harvest”. The message challenged us to remember that people are not projects, numbers, or assignments, they are precious souls entrusted to our care.

Key truths from the message included:
🔹 Mishandling the harvest can cause people to stumble.
🔹 Mishandling the harvest damages people’s view of God.
🔹 Mishandling the harvest leaves wounded sheep.
🔹 Mishandling the harvest produces consumers instead of disciples.
🔹 Mishandling the harvest grieves the heart of God.
🔹 Mishandling the harvest brings accountability.

The altar was impactful as God continued to minister to His people, rendering spiritual healing to the souls.

🌾 THE HARVEST IS HERE… BUT WHERE ARE THE LABORERS? 🌾

What a powerful day at The City of Zion! From the very first note of praise and worship, the atmosphere was charged with the presence of God. The worship team ushered us into His presence, the choir was absolutely jamming, and the Spirit of the Lord moved throughout the sanctuary in a mighty way.

Pastor Elgin D. Orton delivered a timely and challenging word reminding us that the harvest is plentiful, but God is still looking for willing laborers to answer the call. The message didn’t just inspire—it stirred hearts to action.

The most powerful moments came at the altar. Lives were touched, chains were broken, prayers were answered, and souls surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ. Watching people respond to God’s call and experience His love is what it’s all about.
