Last night KRBC joined with the wonderful folks at Cross and Crown Church for powerful night of worship.
We participated in a Tenebrae Service (Latin for darkness or shadows). Typically held on Good Friday it is a service characterized by the gradual extinguishing of candles and dimming of lights. This symbolizes the deepening darkness, the betrayal of Jesus, and His death on the cross. Service ends in silence and in near total darkness allowing worshipers to reflect on the Passion.
Many thanks to the worship team of Cross and Crown Church in leading music. It was beautiful to hear such a large congregation lifting up praises. Thank you to the scripture readers and spoken word poem (we were hanging on your every word). Thank you to Pastor Nick and Pastor Shane for bringing us all together.
The Saturday before Easter Sunday is a quiet, reflective day marking the time Jesus lay in the tomb. It is a somber end of the Lenten season before the joy of Easter
