And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you; as also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction. 2 Peter 3:15, 16. (KJV)

To Avoid Doctrinal Errors

Peter acknowledged that some portions of Scripture are difficult to understand and warned that unstable people may twist truth to their own destruction. Because of this, believers must approach God’s Word with humility, prayer, and a sincere desire to follow the light already revealed. Bible truth remains the believer’s sure foundation in a world filled with confusion and deception.

The passage describes seasons of earnest prayer and deep Bible study during which God guided sincere seekers into a clearer understanding of truth. Through the leading of the Holy Spirit, foundational doctrines were established point by point, protecting God’s people from error and spiritual instability. Truth accepted through the guidance of God’s Spirit places believers upon a firm and lasting foundation. {Ye Shall Receive Power - Page 238 & Manuscript Release 760:22, 23}.

Contemporary Application: Study the Scriptures prayerfully and carefully instead of chasing every new teaching or theory. Ask the Holy Spirit for discernment and remain faithful to the truths God has already revealed through His Word.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, keep my heart anchored in Your truth. Give me wisdom and spiritual discernment as I study Your Word. Protect me from error, confusion, and deception, and help me to walk faithfully in the light You have revealed. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Good Morning To God’s Family!

DAILY NUGGET

Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them. Acts 20:28-30. (KJV)

To Meet Fanaticism

Paul warned the leaders of the church to guard both themselves and the flock entrusted to their care. The church was purchased by the blood of Christ, making it precious in God’s sight. Because of this, believers must remain spiritually alert and rooted in truth, for false teachings and harmful influences would arise even from within the community of faith.

Fanaticism often begins when individuals seek to draw attention to themselves rather than to Christ. God calls His people to remain balanced, prayerful, and grounded in Scripture. True spiritual leadership feeds the church with truth, protects believers from deception, and keeps the focus upon Jesus and His Word. {Ye Shall Receive Power - Page 237 & Selected Messages, Book 2, pp. 16-17}.

Contemporary Application: Be watchful over your spiritual life and carefully examine every teaching by the Word of God. Avoid extremes, prideful influences, and teachings that lead away from Christ-centered truth. Ask God for wisdom to remain faithful, balanced, and spiritually discerning.

Prayer: Lord, help me to remain grounded in Your truth and protected from deception. Give me discernment to recognize false teachings and the humility to follow Your Word faithfully. Keep my heart centered on You and help me encourage others in the path of truth and love. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Good Morning To God’s Family!

For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 2 Peter 1:16. (KJV)

To Meet Fanaticism

Peter reminded believers that the gospel was not built upon “cunningly devised fables,” but upon the truth of Jesus Christ revealed through divine power and personal witness. God calls His people to proclaim His Word with simplicity, humility, and faithfulness rather than becoming distracted by strange teachings or sensational movements.

Fanaticism and deception often bring confusion, discouragement, and spiritual instability. Throughout history, false ideas and extreme practices have repeatedly threatened God’s people. The safest protection against deception is a steady study of Scripture, a Christ-centered faith, and a life surrendered to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. {Ye Shall Receive Power - Page 236 & Selected Messages, Book 2, pp. 28-29}.

Contemporary Application: Remain grounded in God’s Word and avoid teachings or practices that lead away from the simplicity of Christ. Test every message by Scripture, seek spiritual discernment, and keep your focus on Jesus and His truth rather than emotional extremes or human inventions.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, keep my heart and mind anchored in Your truth. Protect me from deception, confusion, and spiritual extremes. Help me to follow Jesus faithfully, study Your Word diligently, and walk in humility and discernment each day. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

To Build Upon the Foundation

Christ is the chief cornerstone upon which the church is built, and the truths of God’s Word form a strong and lasting foundation for faith. Through careful guidance and divine leading, God has established His people step by step, protecting them from error and strengthening them through tested truth.

Believers are called to remain watchful and spiritually discerning. Not every new teaching or theory comes from God. Some ideas weaken confidence in foundational biblical truths and leave people spiritually unstable. God calls His people to hold firmly to His Word, strengthen what remains, and remain anchored in Christ and the truths already revealed. {Ye Shall Receive Power - Page 235 & Manuscript Release 760:9, 10}.

Contemporary Application: Stay grounded in Scripture and do not allow confusion or false teachings to pull you away from the foundation of faith. Pray for spiritual discernment so that you may recognize truth from error and remain faithful to Jesus Christ, the solid cornerstone.

Prayer: Lord Jesus, thank You for being the firm foundation of my faith. Keep me rooted in Your Word and help me to remain faithful to the truths You have revealed. Give me spiritual discernment to recognize error and courage to stand firmly for what is right. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Good Morning To God’s Family!

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him. Ephesians 1:17. (KJV)

To Establish Bible Truth

Paul prayed that believers would receive “the spirit of wisdom and revelation” in knowing Christ. Throughout the journey of faith, God has faithfully guided sincere seekers into a clearer understanding of His truth. During earnest seasons of prayer, fasting, and Bible study, the Holy Spirit brought light to difficult passages and established foundational truths upon His Word.

Truth must always remain anchored in Scripture. While many voices and theories may arise claiming new light, believers are called to test everything by the Word of God. Truth mixed with error leads to confusion, but truth grounded in Christ and guided by the Holy Spirit brings stability, clarity, and spiritual growth. {Ye Shall Receive Power - Page 234 & Manuscript Releases 17:4, 5}.

Contemporary Application: Remain rooted in God’s Word and seek His guidance with humility and prayer. Do not be carried away by every new teaching, but allow the Holy Spirit to establish your faith firmly upon biblical truth and practical obedience.

Prayer: Lord, thank You for the gift of Your truth. Give me wisdom, discernment, and a teachable spirit as I study Your Word. Help me to remain grounded in Scripture and faithful to the light You have revealed. Let my life reflect the truth of Jesus each day. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Reasons for the Gift: To Define Truth

Daniel was told to “understand the matter, and consider the vision,” showing that God gives revelation to bring clarity and understanding to His people. Throughout history, when believers have sincerely searched the Scriptures with prayer and humility, God has faithfully provided light and guidance.

During sincere seasons of prayer and Bible study, God brought clarity and understanding to difficult truths through divine guidance. God used these revelations to strengthen foundational doctrines, correct errors, and protect believers from confusion and fanaticism. The purpose of spiritual gifts was not to replace Scripture, but to lead God’s people into a clearer understanding of His Word. {Ye Shall Receive Power - Page 233 & The Review and Herald, May 25, 1905}.

Contemporary Application: Seek truth prayerfully and patiently through the study of God’s Word. When confusion or error arises, ask the Holy Spirit for wisdom and discernment. God promises to guide sincere hearts into truth when they humbly depend on Him.

Prayer: Father, thank You for guiding Your people into truth through Your Word and Spirit. Give me wisdom, discernment, and a humble heart as I study the Scriptures. Protect me from error and help me to walk faithfully in the light You reveal. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.

Good Morning To God’s Family!

And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful. Revelation 21:5. (KJV)

The Writer: Publishing by God’s Orders

God has often used the written word to spread truth, encourage believers, and point people to salvation. The command to “write” in Revelation reminds us that heaven’s messages were not meant to remain hidden, but to be shared with the world as faithful testimony of God’s promises.

The devotional reading highlights how inspired writings have led many people to Christ and strengthened their confidence in His saving grace. These writings were given to direct hearts back to Scripture - the greater light - and to encourage believers to live with greater faithfulness, self-denial, and devotion to God. {Ye Shall Receive Power - Page 232 & The Review and Herald, January 20, 1903}.

Contemporary Application: Value and study the spiritual instruction God has provided through His Word and through uplifting Christian literature. As truth fills your heart, share it kindly and faithfully with others so they too may be drawn closer to Jesus.

Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank You for preserving truth through the written word. Help me to cherish Your instruction, obey Your voice, and share Your light with others. May my life reflect the beauty of Your truth and lead others to the Saviour. In Jesus’ Name I pray, Amen.
