Tomorrow is Reformation Sunday and also...here at AdventELC Confirmation Sunday! Martin Luther really nailed it with the 95 theses! We have two high school students Hadley and Sam reaffirming their baptisms!!🥳 So much fun and joy all starting at 10:00am for our 10:00am service. Following the service there will be cake and refreshments celebrating Hadley and Sam! Join us tomorrow!

What a great day here at AdventELC!! In between our two services today we had our Ministry Fair. It was so much fun getting to know more about the ministries going on here! A great time to enjoy some muffins, Chex mix, cookies, etc. in fellowship…in… the Fellowship Hall of all places!!!

This Sunday at AdventELC following the 11:00am service the Young Adult Group (open to high school graduates-30yr olds) will be meeting in the narthex to figure out carpooling to get to First Watch! They will gather to enjoy a delicious brunch and be in fellowship with one another! If you are interested in joining, leave a comment or reach out to Courtney Pittman our Digital Content Manager here at Advent to get more details!

Holy Hikes will have their first hike this Sunday following the 11:00am service! At 12:15pm you are invited to eat your own sack lunch in the Fellowship Hall. At 1:15pm they will be at the Columbus Park of Roses! Meet at the path that leads from the parking lot to the rose garden area. They will begin to start out walking together, the trails are easy! They will also have bottled water to share for this first venture. In case of a downpour, they will reschedule!! All are welcome! God is everywhere!!

Yesterday at Advent we had the Blessing of the Quilts where Pastor Joel blessed the 65 quilts laying on the communion rails at both services. Later this week the quilts will be taken to a Lutheran World Relief collection warehouse to be shared in ministries around the world!

Then we had our 32nd Annual Blessing of the Animals! It was a beautiful day. All of our furry friends got blessed by Pastor Joel. Pastor Joel even had a treat for humans and their pets that they got to take home with them!

All Creatures of Our God and King with joyous harmony from our blessed friends🐾 Thanks to Marcy who provided music with this hymn for the dogs to join in on!

Bags and cans of dog and cat food to help stock the local LSS food pantries!

There was even a drive up blessing!!

We did have cats! Who meowed with the barking of the dogs

So much excitement from getting blessed

Tomorrow we have a lot of blessings going on here at Advent! We first have our Blessing of the Quilts where we will bless 65 quilts that will be laying on the communion rails during both of our services (8:30am and 11:00am). Made by the hands of Isabel's Quilters, a ministry here at Advent! Later that day at 4:00pm we will be having our Blessing of the Animals service where you can bring your lovable companions (pets), to receive a blessing from Pastor Joel and also a treat! We can't wait to see you there!!

Come celebrate our annual 32nd Blessing of the Animals! We will gather rain or shine for a lively service of blessing and thanksgiving. Bring a lawn chair or blanket for seating. To help stock the local LSS food pantries you could bring a small bag or can of cat or dog food! If you have a pet that would rather stay in the car, Pastor Joel will gladly do a drive-up blessing. Come join us this Sunday at 4pm! To celebrate God's creatures great and small!!

Today at AdventELC was our Rally Day! Where kids got to meet there Sunday School teachers for the year. We thank all of the Sunday School teachers for their guidance, teaching, and sharing the Bible stories to all of the kids: Laura Bunch, Stacey Bolzenius, Marcy Layne, and backup Erin Welch! We had our Church Picnic indoor in the Fellowship Hall due to the rain. A great way to enjoy the fellowship of one another when we had our two services today. A great way to celebrate Rally Day!! Thank you to all who helped set up tables, chairs, planned, and brought delicious food!

Tomorrow is Rally Day which means we go back to our TWO services and the Sunday School year begins! Join us for worship at either 8:30am or 11:00am (livestreamed). To celebrate Rally Day we will be having a Church Picnic at the south shelter in Thompson Park. If weather is bad, we plan to have the Church Picnic in the Fellowship Hall. Bring your own entree, snack, and lawn games you enjoy! We hope to see you there!!
