Today was the first Young Adult group get together! Following the church service today these young adults met at Panera to talk about life, enjoy some Panera food, and enjoy the fellowship of one another. This is a new group where all 18-30 year olds can join. They will meet in some kind of public place following the church service once a month! Any questions? This Sunday, August 9th, all 18-30 year olds are welcome to come join our Young Adult Fellowship! Following the church service on Sunday, Young Adult Fellowship will meet at 11:30am at Panera on Tremont Rd. This is a time for young adults to get to connect, have some food, and maybe even have a Bible study with one another. Come join this new fellowship!

Today we celebrated Jean Pontious’ retirement. She served as Director of Music Ministries for over 20 years! There was a dedicated prelude “Meditation Hymn” for Jean. Arr. by Charlie Pforsich and played by Charlie, a former angel choir member. Today’s service was full of beautiful music played by Jean. We thank Jean for her beautiful talent she shared with us each service and the guidance she gave to our youth throughout their years here at Advent through music.

DAY 5 of VBS! It was so much fun getting to do The Gospel According to The Peanuts with you all! Day 5’s theme was: I Belong in God’s Story. We all celebrated God’s endless love together on the last day of VBS. We couldn’t have done this amazing VBS without the help of our volunteers, musicians, and most of all Marcy our amazing leader for VBS!! Kids got to choose those they wanted to dunk from them donating money to go towards Columbus Dog Connection. The leaders that got dunked were: Sam, Louisa, Courtney, Camryn, Hadley, Teddy, Mathias, and Marcy! Then we all got to end the day eating ice cream provided by our amazing snack volunteer leaders!! DAY 4!! Can’t believe we only have one more day left of The Gospel According to The Peanuts. Today’s theme was I Can Trust Jesus! We started the day with the VBS band along with Charlie Brown and Lucy, and Hadley. Today the kids got to play drums for music, play baseball for games, crafted up some crafts, and recreated Peter walking out to Jesus and Jesus saving him. It was so much fun!! Day 5 tomorrow! DAY 3 of VBS! Today’s theme: God gives me Courage! We all got to sing and dance at the opening and got to see Charlie Brown and Linus. Kids got to play drums for music, play capture the flag games, tie dyed shirts with water guns, had brownies for snacks, and even got to use stickers to go through the story of David and Goliath! We ended the day with SNOOPY and adding to our God Sightings! It was so great! Cant wait for Day 4!
