In this thoughtful reflection, Keith Funk explores Jesus’ promise of renewal and the profound hope found in the “new creation” God is bringing into the world. Drawing from Scripture and the meaning of the Greek word palingenesia — “again genesis” — Keith invites readers to see Christ’s resurrection as the beginning of God making all things new. With warmth and insight, he challenges us to recognize that God’s work of restoration is already unfolding in our daily lives. This article opens the door to a deeper exploration of shalom, hope, and our participation in God’s ongoing story of renewal.

It was a beautiful opportunity for these young women to honor their heritage and strength, uplift one another, and explore opportunities through organizations across Central Ohio.

This week in our From Ashes to Alleluia Lenten series, we turn outward: toward community.

True reconciliation never stays confined to the individual heart. It extends into the places we live, work, worship, and learn, and it asks us to notice where our attention is focused.

In “What Are You Studying?” Keith Funk reminds us that life is itself a classroom, and where we invest our attention reveals what we are truly learning. God invites us to study not only ourselves but the ways of peace and justice that shape how life is meant to be. Read the full blog here: https://ow.ly/ufwO50YcZS6

As we turn toward others, especially those who feel distant or different from us, may we study peace as a lifelong pursuit. May our communities become places where listening, learning, and healing are practiced with intention.

The Anti-Stigma Initiative at CommonSpirit Health and CommonSpirit Health Foundation is transforming how health care providers understand and address Substance Use Disorders.

This multi-phase effort focuses on:

⭐ Conducting an anonymous survey developed with the Addiction Policy Forum to better understand attitudes toward addiction.
⭐ Training and certifying anti-stigma instructors across the system.
⭐ Adopting the American Hospital Association “Words Matter” campaign to promote respectful, person-centered language.
⭐ Increasing awareness of evidence-based treatments like medication-assisted treatment (MAT).

While early results show progress, stigma persists — with 66% reporting anxiety about interacting with someone in recovery. That’s why continued education and expansion remain critical.

Every step toward reducing stigma is a step toward better health outcomes — and more compassionate care for all.
