☀️ That’s a wrap on an incredible summer of camp! ☀️

From exploring fire trucks and museums to hiking through the woods, building teamwork skills, making new friends and even competing in a World Cup soccer tournament, our campers packed the summer with adventure, learning and plenty of fun! ❤️💙

Our summer camps give young people opportunities to grow, discover, connect and build peace together. We are so grateful to everyone who helped make these experiences possible!

This summer, more than 50 young people came together at the Martin de Porres Center to learn what it means to be Building Peace. 💙

During two sessions of the Rising Youth Summer Camp, campers explored teamwork, leadership, creativity, and culture through hands-on activities like sports, art, painting, origami, and music. Guided by 14 dedicated youth leaders, they also learned practical life skills, including emotional wellness, home safety, recycling, local history, and caring for themselves and their communities.

Campers also enjoyed educational field trips to a fire museum, learned about recycling, composting, and waste sorting with the City of Columbus - City Hall and gave back through volunteer service.

Summer was full of teamwork, laughter, and new friendships at Kids For Peace Summer Camp! ☀️⚽🏀🎨

Nearly 45 children spent four fun-filled days at the Martin de Porres Center playing baseball, soccer, basketball, and beach volleyball while building teamwork, leadership, and healthy habits. Between games, campers explored nature on walks, expressed their creativity through art and painting, and made memories that will last long after summer ends.

The best review of all? Parents and campers alike wished the camp had lasted even longer!

What if summer camp prepared you for real life?

At Adulting Camp at the Martin de Porres Center, 28 teens spent the week building skills they'll use long after graduation. From managing money and writing résumés to using household tools, practicing job interviews, and learning about independence, campers gained the confidence to take on adulthood one step at a time.

Along the way, they met with local firefighters and law enforcement officers, explored potential career paths, learned valuable home safety tips, and discovered community resources available to them and their families.

A special thank you to CommonSpirit Health and White Castle Foundation for helping make Adulting Camp possible. Their generous support ensures young people have access to experiences that build confidence, practical skills, and brighter futures.

Our hearts are with the people of Venezuela as they recover from the devastating earthquakes. We hold all who have been impacted in our prayers, especially those who have lost loved ones, homes, and livelihoods.

As women of faith, we recognize our shared responsibility to care for creation and one another. When the earth groans through natural disasters, we are reminded of both the fragility of our common home and the strength of communities that come together in compassion and hope.

As our nation approaches the 250th Anniversary, we join with women religious across the United States in affirming the Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) Declaration of Commitment.

For generations, Catholic sisters have educated children, cared for the sick, welcomed those on the margins, advocated for human dignity, and worked to build a more just and compassionate society. As we reflect on our nation's history, we also recognize the ongoing challenges faced by many who continue to experience barriers to opportunity, participation, and human flourishing.

Today, the LCWR Declaration of Commitment and Letter to Congress are being delivered to Congressional leaders and shared with every member of Congress. The declaration expresses our commitment to prayer, moral courage, and action in service of the common good, especially for those most vulnerable among us.

As Dominican Sisters of Peace, we stand in solidarity with all who seek a nation where justice, mercy, compassion, freedom, and the dignity of every person are upheld.
