Columbus Catholic Renewal Mission: To renew the fire of the Holy Spirit in the Catholic Church Pope St. John Paul, speaking to international leaders of the Renewal, December 11, 1979.

"I am convinced that this movement is a very important component of the entire renewal of the Church." The Catholic Charismatic Renewal (CCR) was established in Columbus in 1979 by Bishop Edward J. Herrmann and continues under the authority of Bishop Brennan through his appointed liaison, Fr. Dean Mathewson, and a Pastoral Board consisting of seven members. The CCR offers events and programs to ma

ke known the action and experience of the Holy Spirit in our time with His increased effectiveness played out in our lives. The full role of the Holy Spirit effects an exciting faith journey, marked with both the challenges and rewards of an ever-deepening personal relationship with Jesus Christ. The mission of the CCR belongs to the Holy Spirit and is best described by Fr. Bob Hogan, BBD:
