Redeemer Lutheran Church

Redeemer Lutheran Church We welcome all to come and journey with us in faith. We take seriously the Gospel tradition that all are justified by God's grace through faith.

A Place of Welcome

Redeemer is a truly welcoming congregation, sharing genuine hospitality with all who visit our space—whether they’re playing on our outdoor basketball courts, working in our community garden, attending a music program or community meeting, or gathering for worship in our sanctuary. Sunday morning guests experience a warm and comfortable welcome at Redeemer. Our church building

is easily accessible; an outdoor ramp and an indoor elevette provide access to all major areas of the building. In addition, a professional interpreter signs our entire 11:00 a.m. worship service (10:00 a.m. in the summer), and large-print worship materials are always available. For younger guests and members we provide a staffed nursery, but we encourage parents to keep their children with them in worship when possible. Each Sunday the pastor engages the young ones in a special message delivered just to and for them. Redeemer is officially a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) congregation; in fact, it became the first such congregation in Ohio in 1992. That designation means that gay, le***an, bisexual, and transgender individuals are welcomed here and encouraged to participate fully in the life of this congregation—without distinction or exception. The welcome coming from Redeemer members is unconditional, extending to people of all races and ethnicities, all socioeconomic levels, all mental and physical abilities—in short, all of God’s children. We come together here as followers of Jesus who seek to share his wide embrace with everyone we meet. We believe that we are on a life-giving journey, and we invite all who seek such a life of love and truth and understanding to travel with us. We hope you’ll come and see—we have a friendly welcome just waiting for you.

The Rental Registry to protect renters passed last night! BREAD leaders flooded the city hall chambers. City Council passed the legislation, in part, because 1,318 BREAD leaders attended the Nehemiah Action last May where Council Member Nick Bankston committed to work with BREAD to draft legislation. He will be at the May 12 Nehemiah Action and we will be celebrating his leadership! BREAD...Rises!
Also today an article was in the paper highlighting that Columbus is ranked with the 5th largest decline in gun violence in the country! Of course it does not give credit to BREAD or the Columbus Violence Reduction initiative but we know the true story!
BREAD...Rises!
