Last week, the CRIS Victims of Crime Assistance (VOCA) program hosted a special meeting of the Diversity and Inclusion for Survivors Collaborative Board of Central Ohio, welcoming our incredible partners for a time of connection and collaboration.

This collaborative board is rooted in a shared commitment to improving services for marginalized and underserved survivors of domestic and sexual violence across Ohio. They recognize the diversity and unique needs within culturally and linguistically specific populations and work together to fill gaps, enhance direct services, improve system responses, and raise public awareness. This board also creates space to foster trust and connection in a field that often faces resource scarcity.

Highlights from the meeting included a potluck, sharing of program updates across agencies, insights by special guests from funder Asian Pacific Institute on Gender-Based Violence (API-GBV), and brainstorming future collaborative activities and tackling of shared challenges.

Together, we’re stronger, and together, we’re making Central Ohio a safer, more inclusive place for all survivors. Thank you all of those who joined us, including Asian American Community Services, Asha-Ray of Hope, Deaf World Against Violence Everywhere (DWAVE), Ohio Hispanic Coalition - Coalición Hispana de Ohio, Us Together, Inc. - Columbus, ETSS Tewahedo Social Services, and BRAVO.
