Hello Morningside Family!!!

The Columbus Civic Center is filled with storm evacuees from Glynn County, GA as well as from other places in FL and GA.

There is a need for supplies as these people will be our neighbors here Columbus until at least Wed.

Here are some things you can bring with you to church this morning or that we could pick up for delivery.

New Towels
New Blankets
Many, Many snacks
Toiletries

These are the items we will focus on providing. I got good info from some faithful volunteers close to the action that these items are needed.
I am sure there are other items that could be helpful. Yet, we want to be careful to provide the most needed items so as not to overwhelm the space or the volunteers.

Of course, all prayers going up for any in the path of this storm are a faithful offering!!!

Please reply to this Facebook message with inquiries since no one will be available to answer the church phone today. We will be worshipping and then delivering.

Sitting at John Burgess' desk this afternoon. Still shocked by his passing and missing him very much. It is such a blessing to discover some of the ways that he worked hard to help with all the details at Morningside. His love for Christ and for this congregation is evident in so many ways--even through the many files on his computer and the manilla folders filled with notes and the to-do list on his desk. We packed 14,904 meals to be dustributed by Stop Hunger Now. PC (USA) churches of Columbus, GA worked side by side: All Saints, Beth Salem, Carver Heights, Edgewood, First Pres, Morningside, and Sherwood. May these meals nourish body and soul wherever they may go! AMEN!
