UPCOMING EVENTS
MARTIN LUTHER KING JR. BREAKFAST TICKETS! The 34th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Breakfast is on Monday, January 21st at 7:30 a.m. in the Columbus Convention Center. Second has reserved one table for 10 guests. Tickets are $47 each and are available through Friday, January 18th. Please call the church office to reserve your tickets. The Keynote Speaker is John B. King, Jr. Sister Jadon Nious, Director of Operations.
WOMEN’S MINISTRY: All women of Second Baptist 18 years and older, you are invited to the kick-off meeting for our Second Baptist Women’s Ministry on Saturday, January 19th at 9:00 a.m. in the sanctuary. Minister Washington will be sharing the vision for our ministry as we join in God’s plan for the women of our church. Women’s Ministry.
BLOOD DRIVE: The American Red Cross Blood Drive has been canceled for Saturday, February 2, 2019. We appreciate your support. Please continue to “Give the Gift of Life.” Sister Lucille Tillery and Sister Carolyn Francis, Blood Drive Co-Chairs.
BLANKET DRIVE: Please join us in our Annual Blanket Drive! Blankets will be collected today through Thursday, January 24th. Please put your blankets in the boxes next to the elevator. If you would like for your blankets to be purchased, please make checks payable to Second Baptist Church with Blanket Drive in the memo. Thank you for your generosity! Women’s Ministry.
APPRECIATION: Pastor Washington and my Church Family: Maybe you prayed for me, sent a card, paid me a visit, fixed a meal, or simply had me in your thoughts. I’d like to thank you from the bottom of my heart during my surgery, recovery and now my healing process. Your acts of love and kindness did not go unnoticed. I love each one of you. CONDOLENCES: Pastor Washington, Minister Washington, and the Second Baptist Church family express our heartfelt sympathy to long-time members Deaconess Lucille and Brother Raymond Tillery, Sr. at the passing of their son, Raymond Tillery, Jr. whose homegoing service was Saturday, January 12th at Striffler-Hamby Mortuary, 4071 Macon Road, Columbus, Georgia. The burial will be tomorrow Monday, January 14th. Please keep Brother Tillery’s wife Jocelyn, their three children, and the rest of the Tillery Family in your prayers.
