Welcome to Wednesday Word w/ Pastor Green — Part 4 of our series on Biblical Character!
Tonight we’re bringing our study of James 1:1–8 to a close. These opening verses have challenged us, stretched us, and called us to a faith that endures trials, asks boldly, and stands firm without wavering. And as we wrap up this section, James is still pressing us toward a faith that is steady, mature, and anchored in God.

In this fourth part of our journey, we’re also beginning to hear James lift up the theme of wisdom—how God gives it, how we receive it, and how it shapes the way we navigate real life with clarity and conviction.

As we prepare to move forward, get ready: next week we’ll step into James 1:9–16, where James continues building our character by confronting how we see ourselves, how we handle temptation, and how God grows us through every season.

Let’s lean in together and let the Word keep shaping us from the inside out as this series continues to deepen our walk and strengthen our faith.

Today, First African Baptist Church honors the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice.

We remember.
We honor.
We give thanks.

May God bless their memory and keep their families in His perfect peace.

'Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.' - John 15:13

“Worship & Remembrance”

As we gather for worship today, we remember those who gave their lives for our nation. May our praise rise in gratitude for their sacrifice and God’s sustaining grace.

but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles;
they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint. - Isaiah 40:31
