Broad Street Presbyterian Church

Broad Street Presbyterian Church Welcome to Broad Street Presbyterian Church, a downtown Columbus church with sacred worship, rich tradition, and open welcome. Welcome To Broad Street!

We invite honest questions around the mystery of faith. As an intentionally inclusive community, you’ll find belonging here. We seek to be a community where together we explore what it means to seek God in this time and place. We are a multi-generational Christian community that seeks to provide a safe place for spiritual rejuvenation and service to the world. Like most church congregations, we wo

rship, study, pray and care for one another. Our passion is working together to try to make the world a better place. By doing tangible, concrete things that improve people’s lives, we honor God and live out what Jesus means when he says, “Love God and love your neighbor.”

If that resonates with you, we hope you’ll check us out online or in person!

*Strong Foundation*
Broad Street Church has been a church home to thousands of families since 1887. With a heart for helping the community of Columbus, Ohio, and reaching the next generation, we look forward to continuing to change lives in the Columbus area for years to come. BSPC invites you and your family to come experience worship. Join us at one of our weekly services or call us for more information.

*Committed To Social Justice*
Broad Street has been involved in advocacy for justice for as long as most of us can remember. We have sought to provide education and clear avenues for our members and friends to have their voices heard on a variety of issues: homelessness, gun violence, immigration, affordable health care, fair trade, energy policy, racial equality, and public education. Consistent with who we are, we seek to listen and learn before we act, and in all of our work, to show respect for the views of others.

*Family Focus*
Broad Street Church is committed to being a church for the whole family. With LifeGroups and services that teach biblical and family values, BSPC has a place where you and your family can connect and grow. We welcome every generation as well as people from all walks of life to join us and experience BSPC.

*Beliefs*
We believe in and worship the God of power and mystery and love who actively seeks to have a relationship with every one of us. We believe that God’s love – reflected and revealed in the life, death and resurrection of Jesus – is the most powerful force in the world. We believe that there is nothing we have done that can separate us from God’s love. We believe God offers new beginnings and second chances. We believe God takes initiative in our lives, challenging and comforting us in unexpected ways.

*Values*
BSPC’s values are rooted in Jesus’ command to love God and love neighbor. BSPC seeks to honor and affirm persons of every gender identity and sexual orientation. As it pertains to all levels of leadership in the church, it has been the policy of BSPC since 2000 to honor and affirm the spiritual gifts of everyone in our faith community, particularly people who have been historically marginalized and may easily be overlooked by the church. Broad Street is a church that has worked hard to create a community where the gifts of all people are welcomed and utilized.

🌎 Justice Camp Day 2: Immigration Justice

Today we explored what it means to create a world where everyone is welcomed with dignity, compassion, and belonging.

Campers heard powerful stories from members of our own church community who immigrated to the United States, packed welcome kits for newly arrived neighbors through Community Refugee and Immigration Services (CRIS) , sampled foods from around the world, and played games enjoyed by children in different countries.

Along the way, we learned that every person has a story, every neighbor deserves to be welcomed, and our differences make our community stronger.

Here's a look at Day 2! ❤️

Day 1 of Justice Camp = Education Justice!📚

Today we learned about the Lincoln School Marchers, young people who stood up for fairness in education and helped create change in their community.

Through stories, games, discussion, dancing, and plenty of fun, campers explored what it means to make sure every child has access to opportunities to learn and thrive. We also reflected on how faith calls us to notice unfairness and work for a more just world.

We raised them up. Now we're sending them out. 🎓🙌

A few weeks back our church family celebrated TWO seniors graduating with blessings, cheers, and a gift to carry with them: a blanket that says "Go with God."

Because here's what we hope they never forget:
They belong to God.
They are loved.
They've got a whole church in their corner.

Go be great. We'll be right here cheering. 💙

Compassion looks like showing up.

It looks like listening, caring, and creating space for children to learn and feel safe.

Through Neighborhood Ministries, Broad Street supports programs like Bronzeville StrongStart that help build confidence, strengthen skills, and open new possibilities for children.

One of our pastors, Rev. Brittany Porch, wrote this piece for the Presbyterian Outlook , and it captures beautifully why we do what we do. Digital ministry is how we keep the doors open. We're proud to be a church that believes the sanctuary extends beyond these walls. 💙

Why digital ministry is inclusion

Online worship isn’t optional — it’s a vital doorway to connection, care and belonging for those shut out of the sanctuary, writes Brittany Harrold Porch.
