🙏 A Historic Blessing for St. John the Baptist Catholic Church!

We are filled with gratitude and joy as we celebrate the designation of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church as a Diocesan Shrine of Saint Pio of Pietrelcina (Padre Pio)!
By decree of Bishop Earl Fernandes, this designation took effect on September 23, 2026, the Feast of Padre Pio.

Our beautiful church is now a special place of pilgrimage, prayer, and devotion where the faithful can seek to grow closer to Christ through the example and intercession of Padre Pio.
We invite you to visit our shrine and venerate the First Class Relic of Padre Pio, housed in our side chapel.

✨ Special Celebration: Sunday, October 11
Join us for the Italian Festival Mass and the special blessing of Padre Pio's First Class Relic by Archbishop Bernardito Auza, Apostolic Nuncio to the European Union.

COLUMBUS ITALIAN FESTIVAL CHURCH EVENTS!

The Italian Festival gives you an opportunity to grow spiritually with plenty of events at the church. Below is a schedule and also keep in mind the following:

- Come check out the parish (especially the beautiful sanctuary) for church tours and many familiar Italian last names that many people know in Central Ohio in stained glass windows and times for recitation of the Most Holy Rosary!

- Come listen to several concerts by different church choirs such as Buckeye Catholic, Immaculate Conception and our own choir; our own Music Director Anabella Petronsi, and our organist John Huffman!

- Come venerate the relic of St. Francis on the 800th Anniversary of Transitus (his death) and the Jubilee Year of St. Francis

-Also come venerate the First Class relic of St. Pio (Padre Pio), which is a swab of his blood, in the side chapel!

San Giovanni Battista, prega per noi!

Saint Bruno, priest: born at Cologne in Lorraine: he later taught theology in France and afterwards, desiring a life of solitude, he founded an order with a number of followers in the valley of Chartreuse in the Alps, where he united the solitude of hermits with a defined cenobitic way of life. He was called to Rome by Blessed Pope Urban II to help him in the challenges facing the Church. He spent his final years, however, in the hermitage near the monastery of La Torre in Calabria.

Saint Bruno, pray for us!

Vi Ringrazio!!!

What a wonderful time at yesterday's Festival Kick-Off Dinner with over 400 friends and family- the parish staff had a wonderful time with all of you!

We wanted to take a moment to express our sincere appreciation for everyone's presence at the dinner, most especially Orlando at Berwick Manor (the venue), Auddino's Bakery (desserts), Ciao Cafe (gelato), Margaret Panico-Harn and Carol Ristucci, the dinner chairpersons! Your support and participation made the event even more special, and we are grateful for your commitment to St. John the Baptist and our festival!

We hope that you had a wonderful time and that the experience was everything you hoped it would be.

We believe that events like these are an opportunity to be with our parish family who share our faith, our heritage and our love for each other!
