Christ The King Anglican Columbiana

Christ The King Anglican Columbiana christtheking-anglican.com We are a small mission congregation associated with the Anglican Diocese of the Great Lakes. by missionaries from France. We do not.

What would later be referred to as the ‘Anglican Church’ was planted in the British Isles in the 2nd century A.D. Over the next sixteen centuries, the Church in England became known as the Church of England. The word 'Anglican' (ang-lik-an), is derived from the word “Anglo” -- which also refers to the English people. The congregation of Christ the King Church in Columbiana is connected by

ip with the Church of England. Christ the King is a member of the Anglican Church in North America. This is a body of 1000 churches throughout the North American continent, that is affiliated with the Anglican Communion of Churches around the world. We are not affiliated with another church that sometimes refers to itself as 'Anglican' -- The Episcopal Church in the U.S. Our respective churches hold very different views in matters of Faith and Order. Our position is based on our belief that the Sacred Scriptures are the inspired Word of God, and thus inerrant. Others who hold to the idea that the Bible is of human invention, may interpret Scripture to fit the particular theological or social trending values of the day. We believe that the Holy Spirit has clearly revealed how we are to live and that our obligation is to be faithful to His Word. A purpose of Scripture is to change the social realm, not to conform itself to it (2 Timothy 3:16). You Are Invited

You are welcome to visit with us. Please feel free to attend a Church service and experience our worship celebration. What To Expect When Worshiping At Christ the King Church

Participation in our worship hour is not difficult. The words of the worship service (liturgy) are provided in our service bulletin, and in the Anglican Service Book. Our worship experience is centered in the Holy Communion (Eucharist). The liturgy reflects ancient Christian traditions of worship going back to the times of the apostles and early church community. We celebrate the Eucharist every Sunday as the central act of Christian worship, which also has been observed since the days of the apostles and the early Church. We heartily embrace the three strands of Christian expression in our worship services: Sacramental, Evangelical, and Charismatic. We incorporate traditional and contemporary praise music into our services. We are expanding our liturgical services to include contemporary and traditional language. Anointing with oil and prayers at the altar, after receiving Communion, are provided for those who wish to receive these ministries.

**A coffee hour follows the worship service. We invite you to stay and visit with us**

Environment

You will notice several forms of Christian art that grace the worship environment, which call to memory several historical events associated with the history of the Church. As important as these forms of art are, our worship service always centers on God the Creator, Christ the Savior, and on the
Holy Spirit, the Sanctifier of our faith.

Sending out a request for assistance for a lady in Blossom Nursing Home in Salem. She will soon be released after an extended visit. She is in a wheelchair and needs transported to her daughter's home in Newton Falls, a 45 minute trip. Would someone have a van that they can transport Ms. Cheryl upon her release in the next two weeks? Medicaid will not pay and she is not on Medicare yet. If you have the ability to help, please let me know! Fr. John+ Christ the King

What the Ascension of Jesus means for us ⛪✝️

The Ascension of Christ is not simply the end of His earthly appearances. It is the beginning of His glorified reign at the right hand of the Father.

In the Ascension, Jesus does three important things:

First, He completes His earthly mission. After His Passion, Death, and Resurrection, Christ returns to the Father having accomplished salvation for humanity.

Second, He enters into His eternal priesthood. Christ does not leave us abandoned; He continually intercedes for us before the Father as our High Priest.

Third, He prepares a place for us. As He promised, He goes ahead of us so that where He is, we may also be (cf. John 14:2–3).

The Ascension also reminds us that heaven is our true home. We are a people still on pilgrimage, living with hope and expectation.

But it also means something very concrete for the Church: Christ is not absent. He is present sacramentally, guiding His Church through the Holy Spirit until He comes again.

The Ascension is not Christ leaving us behind. It is Christ reigning for us, interceding for us, and drawing us toward Himself.
