The shepherd didn't accept 'good enough.' He pursued the one lost sheep because it mattered. Jesus pursues you with that same relentless love. You are not forgotten. You are not too far gone.

During a quiet morning devotional in John 5:19–29, an unexpected spark of curiosity led me to dive into Logos Bible software to unpack a critical tension: If salvation is by grace, why does Jesus speak of a resurrection based on doing good versus doing evil? Paired with a moving reflection from Georges Bernanos’s The Diary of a Country Priest—reminding us that "grace is everywhere"—this episode explores the weight of both active sin and sins of omission. By examining Paul’s doctrine of the Great Exchange in 2 Corinthians 5:21 and James’s warning on dead faith in James 2, we discover that our good works are not a way to earn God's favor, but our joyful response of gratitude to what Christ has already accomplished.
