We are so grateful for this incredible team of 11 Early Response Team volunteers who deployed to Springfield last week to assist with cleanup following the April 29 tornado.

Thanks to their hard work, six properties received much-needed help with debris cleanup and removal. Your service in the aftermath of the storm is a meaningful expression of our call to love and serve our neighbors.

Disaster response is the United Methodist connection in action! After storms and a tornado hit the Piedmont area, Pastor Brian Abbott and Trinity UMC connected with our disaster hub at New McKendree United Methodist Church to collect 200 cleaning kits (aka flood buckets) to distribute to the Piedmont community. These are flood buckets that so many United Methodists in Missouri took time to build and pray over! The group also received UMCOR - United Methodist Committee On Relief hygiene kits to distribute. Members from Trinity headed out into the community to offer tangible help in the form of a cleanup or hygiene kit. This is the Church in action!
