Celebration Church At Columbia

Celebration Church At Columbia YOUR neighborhood Church - committed to helping people win in life! CELEBRATION CHURCH at Columbia was founded in 1973 as Long Reach Church of God. Davis, Jr.

Prior to the first public service, Bishop Robert S. Davis, Sr. & Sister Doris Davis led prayer and planning sessions in their home. They would go on to serve the congregation as Pastor and First Lady until December 2003. As a trailblazing leader, Pastor Bob's pastoral ministry has impacted local, national and international communities. Many ministry initiatives that were launched through the visio

n of Bishop & Sister Doris are thriving to this day. Through 30 years of Bishop's leadership, the fellowship experienced phenomenal spiritual, numerical and physical growth. In 2004, after serving as Assistant Pastor for 15 years, Robert S. (Robbie) was named Senior Pastor. Pastor Robbie's visionary leadership, solid Bible teaching, and Celebration's ongoing development of life lifting ministries are helping many people maximize their lives in Christ. CELEBRATION CHURCH at Columbia is located in the Village of Long Reach in the heart of Columbia, Maryland. Today, with over 2,500 members, Celebration continues to equip men, women, boys, and girls to take their next step(s) toward Christian maturity.

Today, we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. 🇺🇸

Memorial Day traces its roots to the painful aftermath of the Civil War, when formerly enslaved African Americans became some of the first people to publicly honor America’s war dead. In 1865, in Charleston, South Carolina, Black citizens — many of them newly freed — gathered to properly bury Union soldiers who had died in a Confederate prison camp. They cleaned the grounds, built a memorial arch, decorated graves with flowers, and held a procession of thousands in what many historians recognize as one of the earliest Memorial Day observances.

From the courage of Crispus Attucks, the first martyr of the American Revolution, to the United States Colored Troops of the Civil War, to the Buffalo Soldiers, the Harlem Hellfighters, the Tuskegee Airmen, and the heroes of every generation, African American soldiers have fought for freedoms abroad while often still fighting for dignity at home.

This Memorial Day, Celebration Church remembers not only those who died in service, but also the enduring legacy of sacrifice, courage, and the continued pursuit of justice and freedom for all.

May we never take their sacrifice for granted.

“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” — John 8:32
