Pride always promises to lift us up, but eventually it brings us down.

The question isn’t whether pride will cause us to fall. The question is how we choose to fall.

We can fall to our knees willingly—in humility, surrender, repentance, and prayer.

Or we can wait until pride brings us down and fall on our face in humiliation.

Better to humble yourself before God than to let pride do it for you.

“Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.” — Proverbs 16:18 ESV

The Bible never promises that life won’t give you more than you can handle.

What it does promise is this:

“God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability… but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape.” — 1 Corinthians 10:13 (ESV)

The promise isn’t that life won’t overwhelm you.
The promise is that temptation never has to overcome you.

God may allow you to face more than you can handle—but never a temptation that He hasn’t provided a way through.
