9:15 - Awakening Worship in the Fellowship Hall. This service is led by a praise band

We want to wish God’s beloveds a happy Pride Month!

At First Baptist Church of Columbia, we believe God’s love is fully inclusive.

We believe all people are created in the image of God and are welcomed to participate fully in the life and leadership of the church.

This is who we have been for a while, and it did not happen overnight.

Our welcome of LGBTQ+ people and women in ministry grew through years of prayer, Bible study, listening, and congregational discernment.

First Baptist Friends, this is a reminder that our summer worship schedule will diverge from our typical two-service routine. We understand that many in our congregation have summer plans, which can make our worship spaces feel empty. In having one service each Sunday, we hope to strengthen our sense of community this season. Sundays in the Awakening Worship space will be led by Awakening Music, and Sundays in the Traditional Worship space will be led by Traditional Music.
This All-Church Worship starts this Sunday (June 7), when we’ll meet in our Awakening Worship space at 9:15 a.m.
This time and location will remain consistent throughout June, with the exception of June 12 when we celebrate Journey Together at 11:15 a.m.
Our first July service will be a Brunch Service at 10:15 a.m. on July 5, in the Fellowship Hall. For the remainder of July, our services will start at 11:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary.
We look forward to a wonderful summer of worship, Journey Together, Unidiversity, and so much more!

This Graduate Sunday, First Baptist will be honoring all of our high school, college, and post-college graduates. Our three beloved graduates will be recognized in both worship services. We hope you can join us in blessing their future endeavors!
Those who would like to join us for an early but informal service are welcome to our Awakening Worship at 9:15 a.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Alternatively, if you prefer a more formal service, please join us for our Traditional Worship at 11:15 a.m. in the Sanctuary. As always, both services will stream via webcast on the First Baptist Facebook and YouTube pages.
Between services starting at 10:15 a.m., our Spiritual Formation Hour will include in-person Adult, Youth, and First Kids Sunday School.
