Hope Church Columbia We have sought to allow the Bible and the Holy Spirit to direct our corporate life.

We are an independent local congregation of believers in Jesus Christ - a unique composite of gender, age, color and cultures - all who are seeking to know more about Jesus Christ and how to follow Him according to the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Out of this came the commitment to continual renewal fostered by biblical principles of church life discovered over the years. The Hea

dship of Christ, Fellowship, Integration, Gifts, Interaction, Discipline and Commitment are primary guides toward building up the local church body. We have not arrived and are keenly aware that we have much to learn and embrace. One of the growing desires is to be more effective in local evangelism and seeing more people receive forgiveness of sins, the new birth, and sanctification in Christ. Above all we wish Jesus to be our Lord, and those who join us to share in this goal. Hope has adopted a thematic worship of God for His attributes (nature) and actions. Our worship is musically blended, seeking to unite the church in adoration of God rather than separate over various styles and tastes. This is a continuing challenge but we believe God is pleased with the effort.

In lieu of the service, we encourage you to sit down with your Bible and your family and read John 2 (the wedding at Cana) and John 4 (Jesus' interaction with the Samaritan woman). In preparation for upcoming sermons, find and reflect on the seven "I Am" claims of Jesus.

The church is still out of power as of 9 PM Saturday night. So we currently plan to have church services at 11 AM tomorrow/Sunday in the parking lot. Bring a comfortable chair and an umbrella for shade if you have one. There will be white chairs set up as well. if the Lord allows the power to turn back on before tomorrow morning, we will meet in the sanctuary as we do normally. Currently, we aren't able to live stream but if we have that capability, we will post that link on our website. If you can't come, and we don't live stream, please avail yourself to the sermon library on our website.

We will NOT have children's or adults Sunday school.

Our beloved Executive Director, Rob Settle, is in the hospital with a devastating (but thus far undiagnosed) infection. The situation is very serious but our God is able. Please join us for prayer on Monday, Sept 23, at noon on the front lawn of Prisma Richland Hospital at the flag pole to praise God and ask for His healing over Rob.
