Do you ever struggle to remember all that you learned at a conference? I'm going to share some of the takeaways that we heard from our speakers over the next week or so, so we can continue to soak in God's promises and the speakers' words of encouragement and wisdom!

Local speaker Tonya Christensen spoke about releasing our burdens to our Heavenly Father and “Connecting to Jesus.”

Here are a few takeaways from her talk:

1.) She was reminded by a gentleman that sometimes we have to release something to our Father because “it no longer fits in our suitcase.” For Tonya, it was learning to release her job, she said.

“My position as nurse case manager fit perfectly in my suitcase. But now it seemed to be causing me pain, but I’m not a quitter. Or you might say, I’m stubborn.”

2.) “He loves you so much, and He wants us to take those burdens to the cross and leave them at the foot of the cross and then run on the adventure of life that He has planned for us. So what if we gave God the burdens of our hearts, however big or small? What if we tried not to pick our burdens back up? And what if we let God do what only God can do?” encouraged Tonya.

3.) Remember to take our requests and burdens to God in prayer. Conference founder Melody Parry, who passed away in 2023, loved prayer. Prayer was her favorite part of Bible study, said Tonya.

4.) Remember to spend time meditating on God’s Word.

Tonya shared a recipe for “Connecting with Jesus.” Click on images on this post to read the recipe!
