❤️ THIS is what your support makes possible!

Thanks to your generous donations and every purchase made at our Thrift Store, another family has overcome substance use, unemployment, and homelessness—and moved into a home of their own! 🏠

During their time at Harbor House, they worked hard and took full advantage of the support available to them—our recovery program, life-skills education, employment counseling, housing assistance, and a community of people cheering them on.

Today, this family is moving forward with:

❤️ Almost one year of sobriety
💼 Good jobs
🏠 A home of their own
💰 A strong, workable budget
🤝 A healthy support system
✨ Hope for the future

This is so much more than finding housing. This is a family rebuilding their lives.

And YOU helped make it possible.

🎄 Remember When Christmas Began With a Sears Catalog? 🎄

Remember when the Sears Christmas catalog arrived in August?

That was when the dreaming began.

We’d turn the pages, circle the things we hoped Santa might bring, and imagine Christmas morning long before there was a tree in the living room.

But some of the best parts of Christmas couldn’t be ordered from a catalog.

Families sat together making colorful paper chains to decorate the house. We strung popcorn and cranberries for the tree—sometimes eating almost as much popcorn as we strung! 🍿

We made Christmas cookies in our own kitchens, covered the counters with flour, and decorated each cookie with far more enthusiasm than skill. ❤️

We spent time together.

And somewhere in all those simple traditions, Christmas was about presence more than presents.

Family time became family memories.

And in the middle of the excitement, we remembered why we celebrated at all.

A baby.
A stable.
A manger.
A Savior.

“For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” — Luke 2:11

Maybe we can’t go back to those Christmases—and maybe we don’t need to.

But we can choose what kind of Christmas we create this year.

So while it’s still early, before the shopping lists and parties and schedules begin to fill every available moment, let’s make a plan.

🎄 Plan time with the people we love.
🎄 Make something together.
🎄 Bake the cookies.
🎄 Tell the old family stories.
🎄 Sit around the table a little longer.
🎄 Worship together.
🎄 Read the Christmas story.
🎄 Make memories our children and grandchildren will someday remember.

This Christmas, let’s give the people we love something that can’t be bought, wrapped, or delivered:

Our presence.

And above all, let’s remember the greatest gift ever given—

The Love of God came down from Heaven in the form of a baby.

This year, let’s make room for each other.

And let’s make room for Jesus. ❤️🎄
