Tommy Lee Metts Jr.
December 9, 1937 – August 12, 2026

Tommy Lee Metts Jr., 88, passed away on August 12, 2026. Born December 9, 1937, in Pontiac, SC, Tommy was the son of Delma Legrande Metts and Tommy Lee Metts.
Tommy graduated from Eau Claire High School and went on to honorably serve in the U.S. Air Force. He built a steady and respected working life, including employment with SCE&G and later service to others as a real estate broker. He had a love of boating and water. Through the years, he was known for the quiet strength and dependability that marked both his work and his relationships.

Tommy was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Cameron (Robert), and a brother, James Metts.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Mary Jane Metts; two sons, Tommy Metts, III (Debra) and Kirt Metts (Kim); and grandchildren, Tommy Metts, IV (Abigail), Taylor Metts, Ashley Metts, and Katelyn Metts. Niece, Leisa Maxwell (Troy); nephew Christopher Cameron (Marty) and their daughter, Kelly.

Visitation will be held at New Life Baptist Church, 2825 Ashland Road, Columbia, SC 29210, on August 29, 2026, at 10:00 am, with a memorial service to follow at 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to New Life Baptist Church.
