A Dose of Inspiration: Assisting vs. Enabling

There is a powerful difference between assisting someone and enabling them.
Assistance empowers. Enabling immobilizes.
When we assist, we lift. When we enable we carry.
“Give a man/woman a fish, he eats for a day.Teach him/her to fish, he eats for a lifetime.”

As you strive to help someone Ask yourself: how am I helping them to grow, or am I helping them stay stuck?

Sometimes help is stepping back so someone else can step up.
Sometimes grace is giving guidance instead of rescue.
And sometimes strength is letting someone experience the consequences that will mature them.

Teaching, guiding, and equipping others prepares them for sustainable success—spiritually, emotionally, financially, and relationally.

Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.”
•Galatians 6:5 – “For each one should carry their own load.”
•Proverbs 19:20 – “Listen to advice and accept discipline, and at the end you will be counted among the wise.”
•James 1:5 – “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God… and it will be given.”

Think anout this:

Empowerment creates independence.
Enabling creates dependency.
One builds strength.
The other delays growth.

Today, choose to assist in a way that teaches, strengthens, and prepares.
That’s real love.
That’s real leadership.
That’s Kingdom wisdom.
