Serving the Maury County Jail and Sheriff's Department since 2000

09/17/2026

Restoration Jail Ministry, which works to bring education, life skills and Christian ministry to inmates at the Maury County Jail, is hosting a fundraising barbecue Thursday, Sept. 17 at First United Methodist Church in Columbia. Board members, volunteers and the ministry’s head chaplain recently spoke with Main Street Maury about their work and how they plan to fund it.

Every day, lives are being transformed inside the Maury County Jail through the power of the Gospel. In this video, Chaplain David Baker and Assistant Chaplain Danny Castillo share the mission of Restoration Jail Ministry and how God is bringing hope, healing, and new life to those behind bars.

Thank you for praying, supporting, and partnering with us as we seek to fulfill our mission:

Lend a Hand. Lift a Life.

“Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them…” — Hebrews 13:3

Last week, we had an incredible baptismal service with 23 men following the Lord in believer’s baptism. What a blessing it was to see God moving in such a powerful way!

But God wasn’t finished yet.

There were six men who had signed up to be baptized but were accidentally overlooked and never called to the service by jail staff. We scheduled a make-up baptismal service for today so those men could have the opportunity to follow through in obedience.

However, God clearly had bigger plans.

What started as a service for just a few men grew into a full-scale baptismal service with 17 men following the Lord in believer’s baptism! Praise the Lord for the work He is doing inside the jail and for the lives that are being changed by the Gospel.

God does not make mistakes. What seemed like an oversight became another opportunity to witness His perfect timing and His continued work in the hearts of these men.

To God be the glory!

What a powerful Easter service we had yesterday at the jail!

We are so thankful for The Church At Station Hill for coming in, bringing your choir, and leading such an incredible time of worship and preaching. God truly showed up in a special way, and these men were deeply impacted by the message of hope, resurrection, and new life.

Lives are being changed, hearts are being softened, and the Gospel is going forth behind those walls. Thank you for partnering with us and being willing to serve where it matters most.

He is risen! 🙌

Last month, 22 men inside the Maury County Jail followed the Lord in believers’ baptism!
It was an incredible day filled with volunteers, supporters, and even jail staff who came to celebrate what God is doing behind these walls. We are so thankful for every life that God is changing.

As our ministry continues to grow, we’re preparing for more baptismal services throughout the year. Right now, inmates have to be baptized in their jail uniforms, which creates challenges for the staff afterward.

We want to fix that by purchasing 55 unisex baptismal robes that we can use for all future services.
The cost is $60 per robe, and this will be a one-time investment that will serve for years to come.

🎓 Financial Peace University Graduation – Maury County Jail 🎓

Congratulations to these men for their hard work, dedication, and growth! Through Financial Peace University, they’ve taken important steps toward building a better future—one rooted in responsibility, faith, and God’s principles for stewardship.

Please continue to pray for these men as they strive to better themselves and become the men that God has created them to be.

“Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.” – Philippians 1:6

This week at our barbecue fundraiser, we had the pleasure of honoring Brother Carl Yaglowski for his many years of faithful service. For over 30 years, Carl ministered faithfully in the jail, sharing the hope of Christ with countless men and women behind bars.

Though his health no longer allows him to continue serving inside, his impact lives on through the lives he has touched and the seeds he has sown. We are deeply thankful for his dedication, his support, and his example of faithfulness.

We were honored to present Carl with a plaque in recognition of his decades of ministry. His testimony will be shared in the comments—be sure to read it and be encouraged by his story! 👇🏼
