Blessing of the Beasts at Broadway Christian Church Broadway Christian Church, 2601 W. Broadway, Columbia, Mo., celebrates animals with its annual Pet Blessing. Broadway Christian Church celebrates St.

Francis, patron saint of animals and the environment, with its annual Pet Blessing service. This year's service is on Sept. 16, 2021 at 3 p.m. in the outdoor worship area. All pets and their owners are invited. No pet, no problem! Children are welcome to bring stuffed animals. Treats for pets and people will be served, and volunteers from area animal rescue organizations will attend. Animals must be on a leash or in a carrier.
